Description
Coiltek 10x5" Elite-Max Mono Search Coil for Minelab SD, GP and GPX
At a glance: The Coiltek 10x5" Elite-Max is a 10 x 5 in / 250 x 125 mm elliptical mono search coil for the classic Minelab pulse-induction golds: the SD series, the GP series, and the classic GPX (4000, 4500, 4800, 5000), plus the AlgoForce E1500 and E1500 Plus. It is the pinpointing coil: the narrow footprint for the smallest, shallowest gold in the tightest ground. 650 g / 23 oz, waterproof to 1 m / 3 ft, skid plate attached, 2-year Coiltek warranty. Not compatible with the GPX 6000 or SDC 2300.
When the gold is small and the ground is tight, footprint is everything. This is the Elite-Max that gets into the spots the round coils cannot.
Every gold coil trades coverage for sensitivity, and the 10x5" Elite-Max is built all the way toward precision. Its narrow 10 x 5 in / 250 x 125 mm elliptical mono profile concentrates your SD, GP or classic GPX into a small, hot footprint that recovers the smaller, shallower targets a wider coil sweeps right over, and pinpoints them cleanly. When the ground gets tight, around bedrock, in crevices, along wash edges, and through scrub, the compact shape goes where a bigger coil physically cannot.
Why the 10x5"
The three Elite-Max sizes each solve a different problem. The 9" round is the all-around coil. The 14x9" is the depth-and-coverage coil for open ground. The 10x5" is the finesse tool: the narrowest footprint in the line, the one to reach for when the gold is small and shallow, the ground is tight, and pinpointing accuracy matters more than covering acres. At 650 g / 23 oz it is also the lightest and most comfortable for all-day detailing of a known patch.
Mono is the point. On mineralized, ironstone-heavy gold ground a mono loop runs hotter and holds its sensitivity to small gold better than a Double-D. Coiltek builds it to last: waterproof to 1 m / 3 ft, a skid plate attached from the factory, and a 2-year warranty. Fitment matters, so be exact: it fits the Minelab SD and GP series, the classic GPX (4000, 4500, 4800, 5000), and the AlgoForce E1500 and E1500 Plus. It does not fit the GPX 6000 or the SDC 2300, which use different coils.
