Metal Detector Search Coils: Fitment First
A search coil fits the platform it was built for and no other, so the first question is fit, not size. Every coil here names its host machines in the title, and the Compatible detector filter shows only the coils that work with yours. History Seekers is an authorized dealer for every coil brand here.
Which search coil do I need?
A small coil, 5 to 6 in (13 to 15 cm), separates targets in trash. The stock 9 to 11 in (23 to 28 cm) coil is the all-rounder. A large coil, 13 to 15 in (33 to 38 cm), reaches deeper in clean soil at the cost of separation and weight.
Coils by detector family
Minelab Equinox, X-Terra Pro and X-Terra Elite, Vanquish 460 and 560: the EQX 06, EQX 11, and EQX 15, plus Coiltek's 10x5 NOX and 15 in (38 cm) NOX. Manticore: M8, M9, M11, and M15. XP Deus II: the 9 in (22.5 cm), 11 in (28 cm), and 13x11 in (34x28 cm) FMF coils and the HF2; the X35 and HF coils fit the original Deus and ORX only. Nokta: LG coils for The Legend, LD for the Legend 2, SX and SC for the Simplex and Score series. Garrett Vortex: the Ripper DD. Gold machines: the GPX 11 and Coiltek's Gold Hawk for the GPX 6000, Coiltek Gold Extreme coils for the SDC 2300, and the GM 10 for the Gold Monster 2000.

Frequently asked questions
What coil fits my metal detector?
Only coils built for your detector's platform. Each coil title on this page names its host machines, the Compatible detector filter narrows the shelf to your model, and Shop by Detector lists every coil verified for each machine we sell. A coil from another platform will not connect, or will not run correctly if it does.
Do Equinox 800 coils fit the Equinox 700 and 900?
Yes. Minelab's EQX 06, EQX 11, and EQX 15 and Coiltek's NOX coils fit the Equinox 600, 700, 800, and 900, and they also fit the X-Terra Pro, X-Terra Elite, and Vanquish 460 and 560. The reverse is not true: the Vanquish V8X, V10X, and V12X coils fit the Vanquish and the X-Terra Pro and X-Terra Elite only, never an Equinox.
Do XP X35 or HF coils work on the Deus II?
No. The Deus II uses XP's FMF coils and the HF2 elliptical. X35 and HF coils are for the original Deus and the ORX.
Do Gold Monster 1000 coils fit the Gold Monster 2000?
No. Gold Monster 1000 coils fit the Gold Monster 1000 only. The accessory coil for the Gold Monster 2000 is the GM 10, part 3011-0527.
DD, concentric, or mono: which coil type do I need?
Double-D for mineralized ground, beaches, and trashy sites, because the narrow detection line separates targets and ground balances well. Concentric for mild soil where tight pinpointing matters most. Mono for pulse induction gold detectors, where it gives the most depth on small nuggets; DD coils on those machines trade some depth for stability in noisy ground.
Does a bigger search coil go deeper?
On larger targets in clean ground, yes, and it covers more ground per sweep. On small targets in trash it loses separation and adds weight to the swing, so most hunters keep the stock coil as the all-rounder and add a small coil for trashy sites or a large coil for open fields and beaches.
