If you serve or served, two of the brands we carry will thank you for it on your next detector. Minelab and Garrett both run military discount programs on their metal detectors. History Seekers is an authorized dealer for both, and we process those discounts directly: you contact us, we verify eligibility, and the discount is applied to your order. The discounted price never appears on a web page, ours or anyone else's, because the manufacturers do not allow it to be advertised. That is why this page tells you how it works instead of showing a number.
How the programs work
| Minelab | 15% military discount on Minelab metal detectors, including the gold detectors (GPZ 8000, GPZ 7000, GPX 6000, SDC 2300, Gold Monster 1000 and 2000). Accessories, coils and headphones are excluded. Applied by History Seekers after eligibility is verified. |
| Garrett | Garrett runs a military discount program on Garrett metal detectors. Contact us for the current terms; accessories are excluded. |
| Who qualifies | Eligibility is set by each manufacturer (active and retired service members are covered by both programs). Contact us before you order and we will tell you exactly what to send to confirm it. |
| How to use it | Call 256-284-2247 or use the contact page with the detector you want. We confirm eligibility, apply the discount, and send the order through the manufacturer's authorized distributor. Discounts apply to the detector portion of a bundle only. |
| Fine print | Not combinable with other promotions, price matching or coupon codes. One discount per detector. The discount cannot be applied after an order is placed at the regular price. |

Brands without a military program
XP, Nokta and the First Texas family (Fisher, Teknetics, Bounty Hunter) do not currently offer a dealer military discount program. If that changes we will update this page. We still price match on those brands: contact us with the competitor's current listing so we can verify it.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the military price not shown on the product page?
Minelab and Garrett set a minimum advertised price for every detector and the military discount takes the price below it. Dealers may say the program exists; none may publish the discounted price. Any site showing a discounted dollar figure is outside the manufacturer's rules.
Does the discount apply to coils, headphones or pinpointers?
No. Both programs cover the detector only. On a bundle, the discount applies to the detector portion.
Can I combine it with a sale price or a price match?
No. The military discount is applied to the detector's regular price and is not combinable with promotions, price matching or codes.
Is History Seekers an authorized Minelab and Garrett dealer?
Yes. Every Minelab and Garrett detector we sell is new, sourced through the manufacturer's authorized US distributor, and carries the full manufacturer warranty. The person who answers your call is a working detectorist.
The story is more important than the artifact.
