Metal Detector Accessories Guide: What Fits Your Machine

Most metal detector accessories are not universal, and the ones that are universal are the boring ones. Search coils fit one detector family and no other. Wireless headphones pair with one platform. Start with your machine, not the accessory

The fastest route is the Shop by Detector index. Pick your detector and you get one page listing every coil, headphone, battery, part, and accessory that fits it, with the common mix-ups spelled out. We built those pages because the same wrong-coil order kept arriving at our door: an Equinox owner with an X-Terra coil, a Legend owner with a Legend 2 coil, a Gold Monster 2000 owner with the Gold Monster 1000's coil. Every one of those pairs shares a name and a look, and none of them fit.

Accessories that fit one machine only

Search coils

A coil is matched to the detector's electronics, connector, and firmware. Even within one brand, coil families do not cross: Minelab's EQX coils fit the Equinox and the X-Terra Pro and Elite, but never the Manticore, which takes only M-series coils. Nokta's LG coils fit the original Legend and its LD coils fit the Legend 2, in that direction only. XP's FMF coils fit the Deus II and its X35 and HF coils fit the original Deus and the ORX. If a coil listing does not name your exact model, it is not your coil. Wireless headphones and audio modules

Wireless audio pairs by platform, not by brand name. Minelab's ML 85 and ML 105 low-latency headphones serve the Equinox 700 and 900, the X-Terra Pro and Elite, and the Manticore; the ML 80 and ML 100 Bluetooth sets serve the GPX 6000 and the older Equinox 600 and 800. XP's ST-series headphones pair with the Deus II. Nokta's BT Low Latency set pairs with the Legend, Legend 2, and Simplex Ultra, but the Simplex Lite is wired-only. Batteries, chargers, shafts, armrests, and skidplates

These are cut for one model or one family. A Manticore battery is not an Equinox battery; a V12X skidplate fits the V12X coil and nothing else; the Gold Monster 2000 shares its batteries and chargers with the Gold Monster 1000 but shares its coils with nothing. Accessories that fit every detector

Pinpointers

A pinpointer is its own small detector, so any pinpointer works alongside any full-size machine. The exceptions are the wireless ones: Garrett's Z-Lynk and XP's MI-6 send their audio into that brand's own headphones, which is a convenience on a matching machine and irrelevant on any other. Digging tools, sand scoops, and finds pouches

Nothing here cares what detector you swing. Choose by ground instead: a hand digger with a belt sheath for parks, a serrated shovel for fields and relic permissions, a stainless scoop for wet sand and surf, and a finds pouch that separates keepers from trash. The three questions to answer before you order any accessory

  1. Which exact model do I own? Not the family. Equinox 800 and Equinox 900 take different headphones; Legend and Legend 2 take different coils.
  2. Does the listing name my model? Every accessory we sell states its fit. A listing that names a family but not your model is a question to ask us, not an order to place.
  3. Is this a one-machine part or a universal one? Coils, audio, and power are one-machine. Recovery gear is universal. When in doubt, the fitment page for your detector already made the call.
