A mono coil is hot, but on the later GPX detectors it locks out one of their best features: Iron Discrimination. The Coiltek 14" Goldstalker is the Double-D that gives it back. At 14 in / 350 mm it covers ground well and, swung slowly, reaches deep targets, while its DD winding lets a GPX 4500 or 5000 run Iron Discrimination to skip the trash that wastes a prospector's day. It still has the sensitivity to see sub-gram nuggets at good depth, so you are not trading gold for convenience.
Why the 14" DD
The Goldstalker line is about depth. The 22" Mono and 22" DD are the big cache coils for maximum reach on open ground. The 14" DD is the versatile, everyday member: a manageable size you can swing all day, with the DD's two real advantages over a mono, iron discrimination on GPX and better stability in noisy or mineralized ground. It is the Goldstalker to reach for when you want depth and coverage but also want to work trashier or EMI-heavy ground cleanly.
Double-D is the point here. Where a mono loop runs hottest and deepest in quiet ground, a DD trades a little raw depth for stability, ground-noise and EMI rejection, and the iron-disc capability the classic GPX platform offers. Coiltek builds it to last, with a skid plate attached from the factory and a 2-year warranty. Fitment matters, so be exact: it fits the Minelab SD and GP series and the classic GPX (4000, 4500, 4800, 5000). It does not fit the GPX 6000, which uses a different coil system.
