Description

A teardrop coil covers ground like a big coil but pinpoints like a small one. The 9 inch concentric teardrop is the coverage-with-control coil for the F11/F22/F44: a wider sweep for open ground, with the tight, symmetrical response a concentric winding is known for.

At a glance: This is the genuine Fisher 9 in / 23 cm concentric teardrop search coil with the First Texas screw-in connector, for the F11, F22 and F44. The teardrop shape widens each sweep for faster coverage on open ground, while the concentric winding keeps the detection cone clean and easy to pinpoint under.

Genuine First Texas, in stock

This is the genuine First Texas Fisher part 9COIL-EE, not an aftermarket copy, and we stock it. It is the 9 in / 23 cm concentric teardrop search coil for the machines listed below. New to coils? Our Search Coil Buying Guide covers size and Double-D versus concentric before you choose.

Which detectors does it fit?

This coil uses the First Texas screw-in connector that the Fisher F-series and the Gold Bug, Gold Bug Pro and Gold Bug DP share. It does not fit the Gold Bug 2, which has its own dedicated connector, or the plug-in Teknetics EuroTek and Digitek. This coil is compatible with: Fisher F11, Fisher F22, Fisher F44, Fisher F5.

Why the 9 in concentric teardrop coil

The teardrop concentric is a smart middle coil. Its shape stretches the sweep line so you clear more ground than a round 7 inch, and the concentric winding delivers a symmetrical field that gives confident depth and pinpointing in mild to moderate soil. On the F11, F22 and F44 it is the coil for working fields, parks and yards where the finds are spread out but you still want precise target ID. In genuinely hot, mineralized ground the 11 inch DD runs quieter; in heavy trash, drop to the 4 inch.

Frequently asked questions

Will this coil fit my detector? This coil uses the First Texas screw-in connector that the Fisher F-series and the Gold Bug, Gold Bug Pro and Gold Bug DP share. It does not fit the Gold Bug 2, which has its own dedicated connector, or the plug-in Teknetics EuroTek and Digitek.

How is this size different from the others? The 9 inch teardrop is a coverage coil with concentric precision. Use the 4 inch for trash, the 7 inch as a light everyday coil, the 11 inch teardrop for still more coverage, and the 11 inch DD for depth in mineralized ground.

Is it waterproof? First Texas search coils are submersible; keep the control housing dry. For a verified depth rating on your exact machine, call us and we will confirm before you hunt water.

History Seekers is a small American business and an authorized First Texas dealer (Fisher, Teknetics and Bounty Hunter are one El Paso company). Everyone here detects, top down, for coins, relics, jewelry and gold, and prior field experience is a hiring requirement, not a coincidence. The person who answers your fitment question may be the one who packs the coil and drives it to the UPS drop. The story is more important than the artifact.
