What Fits the Fisher F11, F22 and F44: Screw-In Coils, Audio & Accessories
The short answer: the Fisher F11, F22, and F44 share one coil ecosystem, the First Texas screw-in coil family, and Fisher's own manual states it. Twelve accessory coils fit, from a 4 in / 10 cm concentric to a 12 in / 30 cm Double-D, along with Fisher's wired stereo headphones. The one mistake to avoid: screw-in, not plug-in. These three machines take the screw-in coils below. The Teknetics EuroTek and Digitek plug-in coils look similar and do not fit, and neither do the Fisher F75 coils, the Teknetics T2 coils, or the Gold Bug 2 elliptical coils. If a coil listing does not name your model, it is not your coil.
Search coils for the F11, F22, and F44
The one real upgrade-path argument in this class: coils bought for an F11 survive a move to the F22 or F44, because the three machines share the family. Concentric coils first, then the Double-D coils.
Concentric coils
- First Texas 4 in / 10 cm concentric: the sniper coil for thick trash and tight spots.
- Fisher 7 in / 18 cm concentric: the coil the F11 ships with; the spare and the replacement.
- Teknetics 8 in / 20 cm concentric: the light all-rounder from the same family.
- Fisher 9 in / 23 cm concentric teardrop: the coil the F22 ships with.
- Teknetics 10 in / 25 cm concentric elliptical: coverage with a tight pinpoint.
- Fisher 11 in / 28 cm concentric teardrop: the largest concentric in the family.
Double-D coils
- Teknetics 5 in / 13 cm Double-D: separation in iron-heavy ground.
- Fisher 5 in / 13 cm Double-D (Gold Bug family): the same job, the Fisher-branded part.
- Fisher 10 in / 25 cm Double-D (Gold Bug family): mineralized-ground coverage.
- Teknetics 11 in / 28 cm Double-D: the depth coil for fields.
- Fisher 11 in / 28 cm Double-D (Gold Bug family): the same job, the Fisher-branded part.
- Fisher 12 in / 30 cm Double-D (12COILDD-F75): maximum coverage and depth; the largest coil in the family.
Fit note: the search coil is the waterproof part of these machines. The F22 and F44 are weatherproof, not submersible, so a creek is a coil-only proposition.
