Description

The first real upgrade for any new Fisher detectorist is not a coil, it is $31.99 of headphones. A detector speaker fights the wind, announces your target to everyone at the park, and drains batteries. Fisher's own manuals say it plainly: plug in headphones and the speaker mutes, battery life improves, and the subtle tone changes that mark deep or small targets become audible. This is the exact stereo set Fisher lists in those manuals.

At a glance

The Fisher Stereo Headphones (part 9720950000, brown box) are lightweight adjustable wired headphones with true stereo sound, a volume knob on each ear cup, a stereo/mono selector switch, a 4 ft (1.2 m) cable, and a 1/4 in (6.35 mm) plug with a 1/8 in (3.5 mm) adaptor. They fit any Fisher detector with a headphone jack.

Why this set, and why from us

Every dealer carries a version of this headphone; almost none of them tell you what it actually has. The specs below come from Fisher's printed manuals and Fisher's own product photos: the 4 ft (1.2 m) cable, the 1/8 in (3.5 mm) adaptor, the stereo/mono switch, the knob on each cup. One large detector retailer currently lists this same Fisher part at more than double our price. And a piece of honesty you will not find on other listings: First Texas packages this same headphone for its sister brands, so if you swing a Teknetics or a Bounty Hunter too, one set covers the whole family.
