Description

The SDC 2300 finds sub-gram gold by whispering, and a goldfield is a loud place to listen for a whisper. This is Minelab's own answer: the ML100 over-ear headphone in a dedicated wired configuration for the SDC 2300, with a detachable cable that locks into the SDC's connector so brush, straps, and pack buckles cannot yank your audio out mid-session.

At a glance: Part 3011-0417 is Minelab's wired headphone set for the SDC 2300 gold detector: an over-ear ML100 headphone, about 9.5 oz / 270 g, with a detachable cable ending in the SDC 2300's dedicated connector. The cable locks with a quarter turn and is replaceable separately (part 3011-0415), so a damaged cord no longer means replacing the whole headphone.

Why this set instead of any 1/4 inch headphone

The SDC 2300 does not use a standard headphone jack, and it has no Bluetooth; its military-style connector needs a matched plug. This set is built around that connector, and the detachable cable is the practical genius of it. Cables are what die on goldfield headphones, chewed by rocks, doors, and detector shafts. Here the cable comes off with a quarter turn and a replacement is an inexpensive part, not a new set of headphones. That is also why serious SDC operators buy it as insurance on a machine they run in rough country.

Specs that matter in the field

Spec What it means on the goldfield
Over-ear ML100 design, 9.5 oz / 270 g Full ear coverage blocks wind and brush noise so threshold shifts stay audible
Dedicated SDC 2300 connector Locks to the SDC's audio output; no adapters, no guessing
Detachable quarter-turn locking cable Cannot snag loose; replaceable separately (part 3011-0415) if damaged
Wired, no battery Nothing to charge; audio that lasts as long as the hunt

Compatibility, stated plainly

Built for: the Minelab SDC 2300, and only the SDC 2300. The connector is specific to it.

Your detector SDC 2300 wired set compatible?
Minelab SDC 2300 Yes, built for it
SDC 2300 in rain or water No, use the waterproof SDC 2300 headphones (part 3011-0258)
Manticore, Equinox 700/900, X-Terra No, use the ML85 or ML105 low latency wireless headphones
Equinox 600/800, Vanquish 540, GPX 6000 No, use the ML80 or ML100 Bluetooth headphones
Vanquish 460 / 560 No, use Bluetooth LE Audio (LC3) headphones such as the ML60 earbuds, or their wired jack

Not for: any other detector. GPX 6000, Equinox 600/800, and Vanquish 540 owners want the Bluetooth ML100 or ML80; Equinox 700/900, X-Terra, and Manticore owners want the ML85 or ML105 wireless. Detecting the SDC in rain or in the water? Minelab's waterproof SDC 2300 headphones (part 3011-0258) are the wet-weather tool; this set is the dry-land one.

What's included

  • ML100 wired over-ear headphones

Honest limits

This set is not waterproof and is not the submersible SDC option. It fits one detector, on purpose. It carries a 3-year Minelab warranty as an SDC 2300 accessory.

History Seekers is a small American business and an authorized Minelab dealer. Everyone here detects, top down, for gold, relics, coins, jewelry, and float copper; prior field experience is a hiring requirement, not a coincidence. The owner has put a GPX on Nome gold, and the person answering your SDC question may be the one packing your order. Your purchase keeps everyday Americans working. The story is more important than the artifact.
