Most gold panning kits give you a pan and a screen and call it a kit. The XP Gold Pan Premium Kit gives you the whole finishing bench: two pans, two classifiers, and the accessories that get the color out of the pan and into a bottle. If you are starting out, this is a complete setup in one box. If you already pan, it is the kit that fixes the two things that cost you gold: material you never classified, and fine gold you could not see.
Why this kit
XP built these pans around one idea: gold is easier to trap and easier to see. The pans use XP's "snake skin" surface texture instead of a smooth sandy zone, which grips fine gold during the finishing stage where most of it is normally lost. They are molded in blue on purpose: blue sits opposite yellow on the color wheel, so gold shows against it better than in a black pan. And you get two classifiers, not one, which is the part that separates this kit from the rest.

Two classifiers is the point
Classifying is the step people skip, and it is the step that makes every other step faster. A pan full of gravel is mostly you moving rocks. Most kits hand you one screen, so you either classify coarse and still fight rock in the pan, or run your material twice. The Premium Kit stacks the #10 over the #5 so one pass through the stack does both jobs, and the sieve area is bigger than most classifiers on the market, so it goes faster.

Why does the kit have two classifiers?
The #10 and #5 classifiers stack together, so one pass through the stack gives a double sieving action in one go instead of screening your material twice. XP also made the sieving area larger than most classifiers on the market, so it processes material faster.
What is the snake skin texture on XP gold pans?
It is XP's textured surface, used instead of the smooth sandy zone found on conventional pans. The texture grips fine gold during the finishing stage, which is the point where fine gold is most often washed out of a pan.
Why are the pans blue instead of black or green?
Blue is complementary to yellow on the color wheel, so it gives the best contrast against gold. XP molds the pans and batea in blue specifically to make gold easier to identify in the pan.
Is this a good gold panning kit for a beginner?
