Description
Coiltek 10x5" NOX DD Search Coil for Minelab Equinox and X-Terra
At a glance: The Coiltek 10x5" NOX is a 10 x 5 in / 250 x 125 mm elliptical Double-D search coil for the Minelab Equinox 600, 700, 800, 900, X-Terra Pro, X-Terra Elite and Vanquish 360, 460 and 560. It is the smallest NOX coil: highest sensitivity, best separation in trash, and precise pinpointing. Waterproof (3 m or 5 m by detector), skid plate attached, 2-year Coiltek warranty.
Your stock coil finds the easy targets. In iron trash and tight corners, this is the coil that pulls the keepers out from between them.
Every detectorist hits the same wall: a productive site that is too trashy, too tight, or too grown-over for a big coil to sort out. Nails, bottle caps, and foil crowd the good targets, the stock coil masks them, and you walk away wondering what you left behind. The Coiltek 10x5" NOX is the answer to exactly that problem. It is the smallest coil in the NOX line, a narrow 10 x 5 in / 250 x 125 mm elliptical, and that small footprint is the point: it concentrates the detector's field into a hot, precise zone that separates targets a wider coil blends together in high trash, and it slips into spots a round coil physically cannot reach.
Why the 10x5" and not a bigger NOX
The 14x9" is the all-round choice and the 15" and 18" are built to cover open ground fast, but none of them will do what the 10x5" does in the trash. Pick the 10x5" when the ground is full of junk, when you are gridding tight around foundations, fence lines, and tree roots, or when you need to pinpoint and pull a small coin or a bit of gold jewelry cleanly without chasing the target under the coil. It is the finesse tool in the set.
It is a Double-D (DD) coil, which is the right configuration for stable, well-separated target ID on the mineralized and trashy ground where the Equinox earns its keep. Here is the compatibility competitors keep getting half-right: the NOX fits the Minelab Equinox 600, 700, 800, and 900, and also the X-Terra Pro, the X-Terra Elite, and the Vanquish 360, 460 and 560. Most listings only mention "700, 800, 900" and stop. The waterproof rating is worth stating correctly too, because it depends on your detector, not just the coil: on the Equinox 600 and 800 the coil is submersible to 3 m / 10 ft, and on the Equinox 700 and 900, the X-Terra Pro and Elite, and the Vanquish 360, 460 and 560 it goes to 5 m / 16.5 ft. The skid plate is attached from the factory to protect it in the rocks and grit it was built to hunt, and it carries a 2-year Coiltek warranty.
The Minelab Equinox, X-Terra Pro/Elite, and Vanquish 60 series (360, 460 and 560) share the same coil system, so this NOX coil is interchangeable across all three.
