The Minelab SDC 2300 is small by design, and its stock coil covers ground slowly. The Coiltek 14x9" Gold Extreme fixes that. At 14 x 9 in / 348 x 225 mm it is the largest coil in the Gold Extreme series and gives the best ground coverage of the three, sweeping a wide path so you clear open country fast, while its elliptical shape and mono winding hold excellent depth and sensitivity. On worked-over patches and open flats it reaches the gold that sits deeper and further apart than a small coil will ever find in a day.
Why the 14x9"
The three Gold Extreme coils each solve a different problem. The 10x5" is the small, sensitive coil for tight, overgrown ground. The 11" round is the depth-and-coverage all-rounder. The 14x9" is the coverage specialist: the biggest in the series, for open ground where you want to cover the most acres and still reach deep. It is not the coil for tight or brushy spots, so pair it with the 10x5" for those. Where the ground opens up, nothing else in the Gold Extreme line covers it like the 14x9".
Mono is the point. On mineralized gold ground a mono loop runs hot and pushes deep. It comes with a skid plate attached from the factory and a 2-year Coiltek warranty. One thing to know before you buy: to fit any Gold Extreme coil to the SDC 2300 you need the Coiltek Gold Extreme Accessories Pack (a one-time purchase). If you do not already have it fitted to your Minelab SDC 2300, add the pack with this coil.
