Description

Your CTX 3030 is built to hunt in the surf. The headphones most people swing with it are not. The DetectorPro Gray Ghost Amphibian II for the Minelab CTX 3030 ends the two-headphone shuffle: one set of full over-ear muffs that is 100% waterproof and submersible to 200 ft (61 m), wired with the CTX-style waterproof plug, so the same headphones that worked the dry sand at noon are still on your head when the tide comes in.

At a glance

The Gray Ghost Amphibian II for CTX 3030 is a wired, fully submersible over-ear headphone built in the USA by DetectorPro. It plugs directly into the Minelab CTX 3030 waterproof connector, blocks up to 24 dB of ambient noise, runs a heavy-duty 48 in (122 cm) coiled cable, and folds for the gear bag. No batteries, no charging, nothing to pair.

Why this version, and why the Amphibian II at all

DetectorPro builds the Amphibian II in four connector versions; this is the one wired for the CTX 3030. The versions differ only in plug and hosting, so buy by machine, not by looks: Manticore and Equinox, XP DEUS II, and Nokta Legend/Simplex/Kruzer/Anfibio. Most dealer listings paste the same factory paragraph and leave it there; several do not even keep the "II" in the name. The second generation matters: DetectorPro redesigned the internals for louder volume than the original Amphibian, and on a breezy beach that volume headroom is the difference between hearing a deep whisper target and walking over it.

What the spec sheet means in the water

100% waterproof, submersible to 200 ft (61 m) Far beyond wading depth. Rain, surf, full submersion on a dive rig: the rating covers all of it.
Sound-blocking muffs, up to 24 dB Wind and wave noise drop away; faint, deep targets stand out.
Heavy-duty 48 in (122 cm) coiled cable, waterproof plug Reaches the CTX control box with slack to swing, then recoils out of the way.
Solid-state speakers Built for sensitivity and durability, dry or submerged.
No screws, no wire frame, no rust Polymer construction that shrugs off salt water instead of corroding in it.
Thick polymer cushions, full-ear surround Seals around the ear for comfort on an all-day hunt.
Foldable, built in the USA Collapses for compact carry and storage.
Warranty 2-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship

Wired on purpose

There is no battery and no radio link in these headphones, and underwater that is the point: wireless audio does not survive submersion, and a dead headphone battery ends a hunt. The Amphibian II is a sealed, passive design. Plug it in and it works, every time, at any depth the CTX itself can hunt. When you have located a target in the slop, a waterproof probe like the DetectorPro Land or Sea pinpointer finishes the recovery.
