At a glance

Genuine Minelab accessory, part 3011-0213, UPC 811493013947. Screw-in battery holder taking 8 x AA alkaline cells (not included). Minelab's own label, visible in the product photo, states the terms plainly: water-resistant, for wading only, do not submerge below 3 m (10 ft), keep the seal clean, not suitable for rechargeable batteries. Official OEM part sold by History Seekers, an authorized Minelab dealer.

Why this pod

Every Excalibur II eventually meets the same morning: perfect low tide, and a rechargeable pod that did not get charged. This alkaline pod is Minelab's answer, a holder that turns eight store-bought AA cells into same-day hunting power. It is the difference between missing the window and wading it. We list it with the label's own limits stated up front, because an honest listing here matters: this is the wading backup, not the diving pod, and the machine's rechargeable module (part 3011-0217, also in our catalog) remains the primary power for full-depth work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from the NiMH battery pod?

This is the alkaline holder: it takes 8 x AA alkaline cells you supply, and Minelab's label states it is not suitable for rechargeable batteries. The rechargeable NiMH pod is part 3011-0217, which we also list.

Can I dive with it?

No. The label on the pod itself is explicit: the water-resistant alkaline pack is for wading only, do not submerge below 3 m (10 ft). Diving depths call for the standard sealed-machine setup with the NiMH pod.

When is the alkaline pod the right choice?

As field-emergency backup. If the rechargeable pod runs flat away from power, eight AA cells from any store put the Excalibur II back to work the same day.
