Description
You already own the handle you want. Stop paying for another one. Most sand scoops weld basket and shaft into one take-it-or-leave-it tool, so upgrading the handle means replacing everything. Motley built the opposite: this is the bare 2 mm (0.08 in) stainless steel Beach Scoop basket with the one-pin socket, made for hunters who pair it with the Steve Goss carbon fiber handle, keep a spare steel handle, or want a second basket color without buying steel they will never swing.
At a glance
The Motley Beach Scoop without handle is the bare scoop basket: 2 mm stainless steel sand scoop for metal detecting, 12 in / 300 mm long, 8 in / 200 mm wide, 4.8 in / 120 mm deep, lasercut hexagon drain holes in two sizes, two-step digging path, one-pin handle socket with 1.38 in / 35-36 mm inner diameter. Weight 3.3 lb / 1527 g. Seven colors. Handle sold separately.
Why this one: the scoop-only basket instead of the complete setup
The identical basket ships on the Beach Scoop with steel handle, and for a first scoop that complete version is the honest recommendation. Scoop-only earns its place three ways. First, the carbon upgrade path: pair this basket with the Steve Goss carbon fiber travel handle or the one-piece and you build the light wet-sand rig without owning a steel handle you retired on day one. Second, color mixing: Motley designed the one-pin lock so handles and baskets interchange, and running a gold basket on a gray handle is exactly the point. Third, backup: a second basket in the truck saves a beach trip when the surf gets rough. Dealers list this version with recycled factory text and never tell you which one to buy; the choice above is the actual answer.
