Description
For the deepest targets over the widest ground, nothing on the T2 reaches like the 15 inch coil. The 15 inch open Double-D is the T2's maximum-coverage coil: the widest sweep and the deepest reach in the line, for old sites where the finds sit below every smaller coil.
At a glance: This is the genuine Teknetics 15 in / 38 cm open-frame Double-D search coil for the T2 and T2 Special Edition, with the First Texas screw-in connector. It is the maximum-coverage deep coil, sweeping the widest line and reaching the deepest targets, ideal for hunted-out sites and wide open ground.
Genuine First Texas, in stock
This is the genuine First Texas Teknetics part 15COIL-T2, not an aftermarket copy. It is the 15 in / 38 cm Double-D search coil built for the machines listed below, and we stock it. Some sellers list only third-party coils for this platform or price the factory part well above ours; we carry the real coil at the manufacturer's advertised price. New to coils? Our Search Coil Buying Guide walks through size and Double-D versus concentric before you choose.
Which detectors does it fit?
This coil fits the Teknetics T2 series on the screw-in connector. This coil is compatible with: Teknetics T2, Teknetics T2 Special Edition.
It fits the T2 and T2 Special Edition. Cataloged for the T2 platform only; Fisher F75 fit not claimed pending First Texas confirmation.
Why the 15 in Double-D coil
When a site has been hunted hard and the shallow targets are gone, depth and coverage win, and the 15 inch is the T2's answer. Its large open-frame Double-D sweeps the widest line in the lineup and reaches targets that sit below the range of every smaller coil, which is what makes old fields and pounded permissions productive again. The Double-D winding rejects ground mineralization so it stays usable on hot ground despite its size. The trade-offs are weight and separation: in trash or tight spaces the 5 inch is the tool. Many hunters keep both and switch by site. Note that Serious Detecting cannot currently sell the genuine large T2 deep coil; we stock this factory part at the manufacturer's advertised price.

Frequently asked questions
Will this coil fit my detector? It fits the Teknetics T2 and T2 Special Edition, which use the First Texas screw-in connector.
How is this size different from the others? The 15 inch is the maximum-coverage deep coil: widest sweep, deepest reach. Use the 5 inch for trash, the 8 inch bi-axial for everyday balance, and the 11 or 12 inch when you want depth in a lighter coil.
Double-D or concentric, does it matter? This is an open-frame Double-D coil. Overlapping D-shaped windings reject ground mineralization, and the open frame keeps a large coil lighter; a concentric coil this size would be heavier and noisier on hot ground.
Is it waterproof? First Texas search coils are submersible; keep the control housing dry. For a verified depth rating on your exact machine, call us and we will confirm before you hunt water.
History Seekers is a small American business and an authorized First Texas dealer (Fisher, Teknetics and Bounty Hunter are one El Paso company). Everyone here detects, top down, for coins, relics, jewelry and gold, and prior field experience is a hiring requirement, not a coincidence. The person who answers your fitment question may be the one who packs the coil and drives it to the UPS drop. The story is more important than the artifact.
