Some gold ground is won on depth and coverage: open flats, worked-over patches, wide washes where the easy gold is long gone and what is left sits deeper than a small coil can reach. The Coiltek 14x9" Gold Hawk is built for exactly that. It is the biggest coil in the Gold Hawk series, a 14 x 9 in / 355 x 228 mm elliptical mono loop that sweeps a wider path and drives the GPX 6000's signal deeper, so you clear open ground faster and reach the deep gold. Its elliptical shape keeps it maneuverable enough to work a patch properly rather than just cover it.
Why the 14x9"
Each Gold Hawk size solves a different problem. The 10x5" elliptical is the finesse coil for the smallest gold in tight, rocky spots. The 9" round is the all-round coil. The 14x9" is the specialist you reach for when depth and coverage are the whole job: the widest sweep and the deepest reach in the line, at 900 g / 31.7 oz. It is not the coil for tight, trashy corners, so pair it with a smaller Gold Hawk for those. On open ground it does what nothing smaller can, and because it is still a hot mono loop it recovers sub-gram targets with edge sensitivity and clean pinpointing, not just the big pieces.
Mono is the point. On mineralized, ironstone-heavy gold ground, a mono loop runs hotter and pushes deeper than a Double-D while keeping small-gold sensitivity. The Gold Hawk pairs that with Coiltek's build: waterproof to 1 m / 3 ft for creek and wash work, a skid plate attached from the factory to survive rough ground, and a robust build for reliability.
