The Coiltek 14x9" NOX is built to be exactly that coil. At 14 x 9 in / 350 x 225 mm it is the middle size in the NOX line, and it is the one most people should reach for first: bigger than the stock coil for depth and ground coverage, still light and nimble enough at 790 g / 27.9 oz to grid a site for hours.
Why the 14x9"
The 10x5" NOX is the finesse tool for high trash and tight spots, and the 15" and 18" are coverage coils for wide-open ground, but the 14x9" is the daily driver that handles the widest range of real sites: parks, pastures, permissions, old yards, and the beach. If you are buying one NOX coil and you are not solving a specific trash or big-field problem, this is the size. It reaches deeper than the stock coil and covers more per swing, yet its elliptical shape still lets you work edges, paths, and around obstacles the way a big round coil cannot.
It is a Double-D (DD) coil, the configuration that gives the Equinox its stable target ID and clean separation in mineralized ground. Compatibility, stated in full the way most listings do not: it fits the Minelab Equinox 600, 700, 800, and 900, plus the X-Terra Pro, the X-Terra Elite, and the Vanquish 360, 460 and 560. Waterproofing depends on the detector, so here it is straight: 3 m / 10 ft on the Equinox 600 and 800, and 5 m / 16.5 ft on the Equinox 700 and 900, the X-Terra Pro and Elite, and the Vanquish 360, 460 and 560, which makes this a real option for wading and shallow-water hunting. The skid plate is attached from the factory, and it carries a 2-year Coiltek warranty.
The Minelab Equinox, X-Terra Pro/Elite, and Vanquish 60 series (360, 460 and 560) share the same coil system, so this NOX coil is interchangeable across all three.
