When the targets are deep and the field is huge, coverage is everything. This is the biggest reach the NOX line gives your Equinox.
Some sites are won on depth and coverage alone: big cleared fields, deep pasture, wide beaches, old grounds where the shallow targets are long gone and what is left sits deeper than a stock coil can reach. The Coiltek 18" NOX is the coil for that hunting. At 18 in / 450 mm it is the largest coil in the NOX line, and it does two things a stock coil cannot: it sweeps the widest path per swing, so you clear a big field in a fraction of the time, and its large loop drives the detector's field deeper, so the old, deep targets finally come up.
Why the 18"
The 15" is the everyday coverage coil; the 18" is the specialist you add when maximum depth and maximum coverage are the whole job. It is not the coil for high trash or tight ground, and it asks more of your arm than the smaller sizes, so treat it as a purpose-built tool: put it on for the wide-open, low-trash sites where its reach pays off, and keep the 10x5" or 14x9" for everything else. Used where it belongs, nothing else in the line covers ground or reaches deep targets like it.
It is a Double-D (DD) coil, which keeps the ground handling and target ID manageable even at this size. Compatibility in full, since most listings only give part of it: the 18" NOX fits the Minelab Equinox 600, 700, 800, and 900, plus the X-Terra Pro, the X-Terra Elite, and the Vanquish 360, 460 and 560. Waterproof depth is set by the detector, so to be precise: 3 m / 10 ft on the Equinox 600 and 800, and 5 m / 16.5 ft on the Equinox 700 and 900, the X-Terra Pro and Elite, and the Vanquish 360, 460 and 560. The skid plate is attached from the factory to guard a coil this size in rough ground, and it carries a 2-year Coiltek warranty.
The Minelab Equinox, X-Terra Pro/Elite, and Vanquish 60 series (360, 460 and 560) share the same coil system, so this NOX coil is interchangeable across all three.
