This is the coil the Equinox was built around. Whether you are replacing a worn one, keeping a spare in the bag, or putting a proper round DD on a bare machine, this is the size that does everything.
The 11 in / 279 mm coil is the one most Equinox detectors ship with, and there is a reason: it is the size that handles the widest range of real sites without a compromise you can feel. It reaches deep enough for old ground, covers enough per swing to grid a field, and stays light and balanced enough to swing all day. So the standalone EQX 11 buyer is usually solving one of three problems: a stock coil that got cracked, worn, or lost; the want for a spare so a bad coil never ends a hunt; or a bare X-Terra Pro, X-Terra Elite, or Vanquish that needs the round DD 11. If you are any of those, this is the exact factory coil, not an approximation.
Why the EQX 11 and not a bigger or smaller coil
The EQX 06 is the small coil for trash and tight spots, and the EQX 15 is the coverage coil for wide-open ground, but the EQX 11 is the do-everything middle: the all-round coil for Equinox that most people should keep on the machine most of the time. It is the 11 inch coil for Equinox owners who want one coil that is genuinely good at parks, pastures, permissions, and the beach rather than specialized for any one of them. It is also the right call as an Equinox replacement coil, because there is no reason to downgrade to an off-brand copy when the factory EQX 11 coil is the one the detector was tuned for.
This is the current Next Generation coil (Minelab part 3011-0463). The electronics reduce the effect of electrical noise (EMI) in the field, and the coil stores its own calibration data so the detector reads it correctly the moment you connect it. It is a Double-D (DD) coil, the configuration that gives the Equinox its stable target ID and clean separation in mineralized ground.
Compatibility, stated in full, because most listings only give part of it: the EQX 11 fits the Minelab Equinox 600, 700, 800, and 900, the X-Terra Pro, the X-Terra Elite, and the Vanquish 360, 460 and 560. It does not fit the older X-Terra 305, 505, or 705, which use a different coil system, so if you run one of those this is not your coil. Waterproof depth is set by the detector, not the coil, so here it is straight: the coil is submersible to 3 m / 10 ft on the Equinox 600 and 800, and to 5 m / 16 ft on the Equinox 700 and 900, the X-Terra Pro and Elite, and the Vanquish 360, 460 and 560, all of which are fully waterproof machines. The skid plate is fitted from the factory, and the coil carries Minelab's 3-year warranty.
The Minelab Equinox, X-Terra Pro/Elite, and Vanquish 60 series (360, 460 and 560) share the same coil system, so this coil is interchangeable across all three. That makes the EQX 11 a coil for Vanquish 360, a coil for Vanquish 460 and a coil for Vanquish 560 owners as much as an X-Terra Pro coil or an Equinox coil.
