Why the X-Terra Pro and not something else?
Inside Minelab's ladder the rule is simple. The X-Terra Pro is the selectable single-frequency machine: Pro-Switch lets you pick 5, 10, or 15 kHz in Park and Field (8 kHz on the Beach), one at a time, and that is plenty for coins, relics, and jewelry in most ground. Put plainly, because it is the mix-up we field most often: the X-Terra Pro is not a multi-frequency detector. It is a switchable-frequency detector that runs one frequency per hunt, and you choose which. The X-Terra Elite is the step up to Multi-IQ simultaneous multi-frequency, which is the technology you want for wet salt sand and heavily mineralized dirt. Same body, same coils, different engine: that is the whole decision. See the Pro and Elite side by side. Against the Vanquish line the Pro has a different edge: the Vanquish is Multi-IQ but only its coil is waterproof, while the X-Terra Pro's whole body submerges to 16 ft / 5 m. Can the Minelab X-Terra Pro find gold?
