Description
Nokta LD21 8 in x 5.5 in DD Waterproof Search Coil for the Nokta Legend 2
At a glance: The Nokta LD21 is the 8 in x 5.5 in / 21 x 14 cm elliptical Double-D waterproof search coil for the Nokta Legend 2. It is the small coil in the Legend 2 set: highest sensitivity to tiny targets, best separation in high trash, and precise pinpointing in tight ground. Fully waterproof DD, submersible with the detector to 16 ft / 5 m (IP68). Fits the Nokta Legend 2 only. Part 17000563.
Every Legend 2 owner meets the same wall: a good site that is simply too trashy or too tight for the stock coil. This 8 in x 5.5 in / 21 x 14 cm coil is the one that pulls the keepers out from between the junk.
Nails, foil, and bottle caps crowd the coins and the jewelry, a big coil blends them into one smeared signal, and you walk off wondering what stayed in the ground. The LD21 is Nokta's answer to exactly that. At 8 in x 5.5 in / 21 x 14 cm it is the smallest coil in the Legend 2 lineup, and that small elliptical footprint is the whole point: it concentrates the detector's field into a hot, precise zone that separates targets a wider coil masks, and it slips into spots the bigger coils cannot reach.
Why the LD21 and not a bigger coil
The LD28 11 in / 28 cm is the balanced all-rounder and the LD38 15 in x 12 in / 38 x 30 cm covers open ground, but neither will do what the 8 in x 5.5 in / 21 x 14 cm does in the trash. Reach for the LD21 when the ground is full of iron, when you are gridding tight around foundations, fence lines, and tree roots, or when you want to pinpoint and lift a small coin or a bit of gold jewelry cleanly. It is the finesse tool in your bag, and it is the size most detectorists reach for first when they suspect a hammered site still holds finds the stock coil swung over. The LD21 already ships with the Legend 2 for this reason; if you have worn yours out or want a spare, this is the coil that changes what comes out of a trashy site.
It is a Double-D (DD) coil, the configuration that gives the Legend 2 its stable target ID and clean separation on mineralized, iron-laden ground. It is fully waterproof; the coil does not set the depth limit, the detector does, and the Nokta Legend 2 is a fully waterproof machine rated to 16 ft / 5 m (IP68), so even this small coil is a genuine option for wet sand and shallow water.
Compatibility, stated straight: the LD21 is matched to the Nokta Legend 2. The LD coils are re-engineered for the Legend 2, and the original Nokta Legend uses the separate LG coil series, so buy the coil matched to your detector. Nokta's own manual warns owners of more than one machine to be sure they have not fitted the wrong coil by mistake. If you are not certain which Legend you own, call us before you order.

Frequently asked questions
Which detector does the Nokta LD21 fit?
The Nokta Legend 2. The LD series is re-engineered for the Legend 2; the original Nokta Legend uses the separate LG coil series, so an LD21 is not the coil for the original Legend.
What is the LD21 best for?
It is the small 8 in x 5.5 in / 21 x 14 cm coil for high-trash and iron-laden ground, tight spots, precise pinpointing, and small targets like small coins and gold jewelry.
Is the LD21 a mono or DD coil?
It is a Double-D (DD) coil, which gives the Legend 2 stable target ID and clean separation on mineralized, trashy ground.
Is the LD21 waterproof?
Yes, it is a fully waterproof DD coil. Submersion depth is set by the detector, and the Nokta Legend 2 is waterproof to 16 ft / 5 m (IP68).
Should I get the LD21 or a bigger Legend 2 coil?
Choose the LD21 for trash, tight spots, and small targets. Choose the LD28 for balanced all-round work, the LD22 for a maneuverable mid size, or the LD38 for coverage and depth.
Can I return the LD21 coil?
Yes. As an accessory it carries the standard 14-day return, unlike our final-sale gold and PI detectors.
