Your Legend already handles the open ground. What it does not have out of the box is a coil built to slice through iron-choked, cluttered sites without giving up much depth. That is the gap the LG24 fills.
The LG24 is a 9.5 in x 6 in / 24 x 15 cm elliptical Double-D, and the elliptical shape is what makes it useful as a second coil. A narrow elliptical footprint separates targets in trash and slips between obstacles the way a small round coil does, but the longer axis holds onto depth and coverage a 6 in coil gives up. It is the coil for old yards, park edges, foundations, and hammered relic sites where the finds hide next to the nails.
Why the LG24, and when to add it to your kit
Think of the Legend coils as a set you build. The LG30 12 in x 9 in / 30 x 23 cm ships as the all-rounder and the LG15 6 in / 15 cm is the pure sniper; the LG24 sits between them and earns its place as the specialist you add when the stock coil starts smearing targets together. Choose the LG24 over the LG15 when you want that trash separation but refuse to lose the extra depth and ground speed of the longer coil, and over the LG28 or LG35 when the ground is too tight or too iron-laden for a big coil to behave. Most competitor listings just name the part and move on; the honest answer is that the LG24 is the coil that turns a frustrating trashy site into a productive one, so it is the first upgrade many Legend owners add.
It is a Double-D (DD) coil, the configuration that gives the Legend its stable target ID and clean ground handling in mineralized dirt. It is fully waterproof; the coil does not set the depth limit, the detector does, and the Nokta Legend is a fully waterproof machine rated to 16 ft / 5 m (IP68), so the LG24 works the wet edges of a beach or creek as readily as dry ground.
Compatibility, stated straight: the LG24 is matched to the original Nokta Legend. The LD coils for the newer Nokta Legend 2 are a separate, re-engineered set, so if you run a Legend 2 this is not your coil, and Nokta's own manual warns owners of more than one detector to be sure they have not fitted the wrong coil by mistake. Buy the coil matched to your machine, and call us first if you are unsure which Legend you own.
