Description

Nokta's First Pulse Induction Gold Detector: Power for Deep Gold, Precision for Small Gold

The Nokta Magnetar 9000 is a professional pulse induction (PI) metal detector engineered for serious gold prospecting in the harshest, most mineralized ground. After more than twenty years of VLF and multi-frequency machines, Nokta's first PI detector goes after both deep gold and tiny micro nuggets on a single sweep, staying stable in iron-rich soil, hot rocks, black sand, and saltwater where VLF detectors lose depth and turn noisy.

At a glance

The Nokta Magnetar 9000 is Nokta's first pulse induction gold detector: Advanced PI with Dual-Receiver Coil (DRC) technology, two waterproof DRC coils included (14.5x13 in MG37 and 11x8 in MG29), IP68 submersible to 3 m (10 ft), 2.4 kg (5.3 lb) with the 11 in coil, and two batteries for up to 20 hours total. 3 year warranty.

At its core is Nokta's Advanced Pulse Induction platform paired with a Dual-Receiver Coil (DRC) system: two receiver channels working inside one waterproof coil housing, delivering strong depth on buried targets and sharp response on the smallest surface gold at the same time. One platform built for deep gold, small gold, and the toughest ground, so you stop carrying a second machine.

Why Prospectors Choose the Magnetar 9000

  • Advanced Pulse Induction that cuts through the ground mineralization, hot rocks, and salt that defeat VLF circuits.
  • Dual-Receiver Coil (DRC) technology for real depth on deep gold with sharp response on micro nuggets, all on one sweep.
  • Auto Noise Cancellation that scans for electromagnetic interference and locks onto the cleanest channel.
  • Easy and Expert menus so a new PI user can power up with pre-tuned settings, while seasoned hunters take full control of every parameter.
  • Three search modes and three ground settings: Maximum, Standard, and Deep modes matched to Regular, Tough, or Extreme ground, with both threshold volume and threshold frequency adjustable, so the tone you listen to all day is one you chose.
  • IP68 waterproof to 10 ft (3 m) for creek beds, river crossings, wet beaches, and full protection from dust ingress.
  • Lightweight telescopic carbon fiber shaft that stays rigid through long days of swinging.
  • Two waterproof DRC coils and two batteries included, so you are ready for deep and small targets all day, right out of the box.
  • Bluetooth, wired, and built-in speaker audio, plus a backlit LCD and keys, flashlight, and key sounds with vibration for low-light and tough conditions.
  • Backed by a 3-year warranty and firmware that updates over USB, so the detector keeps improving after purchase. Updating could not be simpler: the Magnetar mounts on your computer as a USB drive and you copy one file across, no utility software needed. Nokta is actively maintaining it, with two updates released in June 2026 alone (current software V2.02.03).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Nokta Magnetar 9000 waterproof?
Yes. It carries an IP68 rating and is fully submersible to 10 ft (3 m). The control unit, coils, and connections are sealed for freshwater, saltwater, and wet beach hunting, with complete protection against dust ingress.

What search coils are included?
Two waterproof Dual-Receiver Coils: the 14.5" x 13" MG37 for maximum depth and the 11" x 8" MG29 for tighter, high-sensitivity work. Both ship with covers, so you cover deep and small gold without buying a second coil.

Will it work in highly mineralized ground, black sand, and hot rocks?
Yes. Pulse induction is largely unaffected by ground mineralization, which is why it is the standard for iron-rich soil, black sand, and saltwater beaches where VLF detectors lose depth and stability.

How long does the battery last?
Each Li-Ion pack delivers up to 10 hours of runtime, and two packs are included, for up to 20 hours of detecting. AC, vehicle, and battery-clamp charging options are all in the box.

Can I use wireless headphones?
Yes. Bluetooth is built in and Nokta wireless headphones are included. You can also use wired headphones through the 6.3 mm (1/4") jack or listen through the built-in speaker.

Is the Magnetar 9000 a good first detector?
Easy Mode makes it approachable, but this is a specialized pulse induction gold machine. If you mainly hunt coins, parks, and jewelry, a multi-purpose detector like the Nokta Legend 2 is a better everyday fit. For serious gold prospecting in tough ground, the Magnetar 9000 is built for the job.

What warranty comes with it?
The Magnetar 9000 is covered by a 3-year warranty, and as an authorized Nokta dealer, History Seekers ships every unit new with full manufacturer coverage.
