Why high frequency, and why the round one
Where the XP X35 coil family spans 35 frequencies from 3.7 to 27.7 kHz for general hunting, this coil starts at 14 kHz and climbs to 54 kHz (59 kHz with offsets). Higher frequency means stronger response from small, low-conductivity targets: fine gold, small hammered coins, thin jewelry chains, tiny colonial brass. The 9 in round footprint keeps useful ground coverage and stable pinpointing, which makes it the better HF choice for general small-target hunting and relic sites with moderate iron. When the iron gets dense or the ground gets hot and mineralized, its sibling, the HF Elliptical, trades footprint for a 74 kHz top band and a blade-shaped sweep. One naming trap worth a sentence: XP's HF2 coil is a different product for the Deus II, so if you run a Deus II you want the HF2 Elliptical, not this coil.

Compatibility, stated plainly
This coil fits the original XP Deus and the XP ORX. It is also a factory XP ORX coil: XP ships an ORX gold pack built around this exact 9 in HF. It is not compatible with the XP Deus II or Icon, which use FMF coils only. Like every original XP Deus coil it pairs wirelessly, but note the battery lives in the lower stem, which is why a dedicated HF stem is included in the box; the X35 in-coil battery kit does not fit the HF pair.
