Which detectors does it fit?
Every First Texas F75-platform coil uses the same screw-in connector, so this coil fits the whole F75 family. This coil is compatible with: Fisher F75, Fisher F75+, Fisher F75 LTD, Fisher F70, Teknetics Patriot.
It also fits the Teknetics Patriot, which shares the F75 platform. We do not currently claim it fits the Teknetics T2 series; those coils are cataloged separately and we will confirm interchange with First Texas before stating it.
Why the 5 in Double-D coil
A small search coil concentrates its field into a tight footprint, which is exactly what iron-infested homesites, old foundations, tot lots and dense-trash parks demand. Where the F75's stock coil sees a good coin and a rusty nail as one blurred signal, the 5 inch Double-D resolves them as two targets, so you dig the keeper and leave the trash. It also reaches the tight places that hide finds: along fence lines, between tree roots, in the corners of a foundation. The Double-D winding keeps the response stable in mineralized soil. The trade-off is ground coverage and raw depth on open ground, which is where the 11 and 12 inch coils earn their place.

How is this size different from the others? Choose the 5 inch for trashy sites, tight spaces and separating close targets. Step up to the 10 inch for open-ground coverage, or the 11 and 12 inch Double-D coils for maximum depth.
Double-D or concentric, does it matter? This is a Double-D coil. Its overlapping D-shaped windings reject ground mineralization and run smoother than a concentric coil in bad soil, with a blade-shaped detection pattern that is easy to pinpoint along.
Is it waterproof? First Texas search coils are submersible; keep the control housing dry. For a verified depth rating on your exact machine, call us and we will confirm before you hunt water.
