Description

A narrow elliptical coil goes where a round coil will not and still covers ground fast. The 6.5 inch elliptical threads fence lines, tree roots and building corners, and its slim profile sweeps a clean line through moderate trash without the bulk of a big round coil.

At a glance: This is the genuine Fisher 6.5 in / 17 cm elliptical search coil for the F75, F75+, F75 LTD and F70, with the First Texas screw-in connector. Its narrow footprint reaches tight spots and works trashy ground while still covering more sweep line than a small round coil, a versatile step between the 5 inch and the coverage coils.

Genuine First Texas, in stock

This is the genuine First Texas Fisher part 6COIL-E, not an aftermarket copy. It is the 6.5 in / 17 cm Elliptical search coil built for the machines listed below, and we stock it. Some sellers list only third-party coils for this platform or price the factory part well above ours; we carry the real coil at the manufacturer's advertised price. New to coils? Our Search Coil Buying Guide walks through size and Double-D versus concentric before you choose.

Which detectors does it fit?

This coil uses the F75 family's screw-in connector. This coil is compatible with: Fisher F75, Fisher F75+, Fisher F75 LTD, Fisher F70, Teknetics Patriot.

It also fits the Teknetics Patriot on the same platform. We do not claim it fits the Teknetics T2 series pending First Texas confirmation of interchange.

Why the 6.5 in Elliptical coil

An elliptical coil trades some of a round coil's raw footprint for a narrow, maneuverable shape. That makes the 6.5 inch a natural problem-solver: it slips between tree roots, works close to iron along a fence line and reaches into the corners of a foundation, while its longer axis still sweeps a usable line through the ground. On the F75 it is the coil for tight, cluttered sites where you want more reach than the 5 inch but more agility than a full 10 or 11 inch round. When the ground opens up and depth matters, move to the larger Double-D coils.

Frequently asked questions

Will this coil fit my detector? It fits the Fisher F75, F75+, F75 LTD and F70, plus the Teknetics Patriot, which share the First Texas screw-in connector.

How is this size different from the others? The 6.5 inch elliptical is the maneuverable coil for tight, cluttered ground with a little more reach than the 5 inch. Use the 10 inch for open-ground coverage and the 11 or 12 inch Double-D for depth.

Double-D or concentric, does it matter? This is an elliptical-shaped coil. The narrow width helps in trash and tight spaces; a round Double-D like the 11 inch covers more ground and pushes deeper on open sites. Neither is better everywhere, they suit different ground.

Is it waterproof? First Texas search coils are submersible; keep the control housing dry. For a verified depth rating on your exact machine, call us and we will confirm before you hunt water.

History Seekers is a small American business and an authorized First Texas dealer (Fisher, Teknetics and Bounty Hunter are one El Paso company). Everyone here detects, top down, for coins, relics, jewelry and gold, and prior field experience is a hiring requirement, not a coincidence. The person who answers your fitment question may be the one who packs the coil and drives it to the UPS drop. The story is more important than the artifact.
