Description

The GPX 11 is the coil Minelab fits to the GPX 6000 first, and there is a reason for that. An 11 in (28 cm) round Monoloop is the balance point of the whole system: deep enough for serious gold, sensitive enough for the small nuggets that make up most of what any claim gives up, and compact enough to work between brush, blowdowns and bedrock crevices without hanging up your swing.

At a glance: The Minelab GPX 11 (part 3011-0425) is an 11 in / 28 cm round Monoloop search coil for the GPX 6000 gold detector. Minelab positions it as the general-purpose choice: excellent depth, high sensitivity to smaller nuggets, and easy to maneuver around obstacles. Waterproof to 1 m (3.3 ft). Fits the GPX 6000 only.

Why buy the GPX 11 on its own

In the US, the GPX 6000 ships with a GPX 11 in the box, so this listing is usually one of three purchases: a replacement for a coil that has taken years of hard ground, a dedicated spare so a cable failure never ends a trip to the goldfields, or the coil for a second shaft setup. If you are choosing your first accessory coil instead, look at the GPX 17: it is the only coil of the three the US box does not already include.

Frequently asked questions

Does the GPX 6000 come with this coil? In the US, yes: the GPX 6000 ships with the GPX 11 Monoloop and the GPX 14 Double-D. Buy the GPX 11 separately as a replacement or spare.

Will the GPX 11 fit my older GPX 5000 or SDC 2300? No. Minelab lists GPX-series accessory coils for the GPX 6000 only.

Is it waterproof? Yes, submersible to 1 m (3.3 ft), so creek crossings and shallow washes are fine. The GPX 6000 control box is not submersible.

History Seekers is a small American business and an authorized Minelab dealer. Everyone here detects, top down, and gold is the reason several of us started; our owner's finds include a 14.54 g Nome nugget swung up on a GPX 6000. Ask us which coil fits the ground you actually hunt, because the story is more important than the artifact.
