Description
This is the complete first kit in one factory box: the fully submersible Vanquish 460, the PRO-FIND 35 pinpointer for the hole, and the Adventure Pack tools for the dig - every piece Minelab-built, one part number (3820-1005), nothing generic and nothing left to order.
At a glance
This factory Minelab bundle (part 3820-1005, sold by Minelab as the VANQUISH 460 Discovery Bundle) is the find-and-recover Vanquish setup: the fully submersible Vanquish 460 with the V10X 10x7 in (25x18 cm) waterproof coil and Minelab wired headphones, plus the PRO-FIND 35 pinpointer and the Adventure Pack (Minelab digger, finds pouch, gloves). Multi-IQ multi-frequency metal detector, IP68 waterproof to 16 ft (5 m), 1.16 kg (2.6 lb), 3-year Minelab warranty on the detector. Best for coins, jewelry and relics in parks, fields, beaches and creeks; beginner through intermediate.
History Seekers Metal Detectors is an authorized Minelab dealer; every Vanquish 460 Discovery Bundle we sell is new, sourced through Minelab's authorized US distributor, and carries the full 3-year Minelab warranty on the Vanquish 460 detector.
Why this is the kit to hand a new detectorist
Dealer-assembled starter kits pad the box with third-party fillers; Minelab packs this one in the factory, so the pinpointer, digger, pouch, and gloves match the machine's standard and its warranty conversation. And the machine is the part most of the internet has not caught up with: older Vanquish models kept the control box dry, but the 460 is the new 60-series - the ENTIRE detector is IP68 submersible to 16 ft (5 m) per Minelab's published specs. A first hunt can end in the creek without ending the detector.
Dealer pages that resell this same part number tend to bolt their own house-brand digger kits onto it, quote "savings" against a list price nobody charges, or print the 560's weight for the 460. We sell the Minelab box as Minelab packs it and tell you exactly what the 460 can and cannot do.
Technical specs and what they do in the field
| Multi-IQ simultaneous multi-frequency | The same core technology family as the Equinox: stable target IDs instead of single-frequency guessing. |
| Fully submersible, IP68 to 16 ft (5 m) - control box included | Creeks, surf line, and rained-out days; the 60-series ended the old keep-the-box-dry caveat. |
| 4 search modes, 30 discrimination segments, 10 sensitivity levels, 3 tones, Iron Bias 0 to 2 | Park, Field, Beach and a saved User Profile: the same full 60-series control set as the 560, which differs only by its larger V12X coil, five tones and Iron Bias reaching -1. |
| V10X 10x7 in (25x18 cm) Double-D coil, skid plate fitted | Light, quick, easy to control, honest coverage per sweep. The 460 also accepts the V8X and V12X coils and Minelab's Equinox EQX06, EQX11 and EQX15 coils. |
| Wired headphones included; Bluetooth LE Audio (LC3) wireless | Wired audio out of the box; wireless only with headphones that support LE Audio with the LC3 codec (older Bluetooth headsets will not pair). |
| Red-backlit display, built-in flashlight, handgrip vibration | Dawn and dusk hunts, and a signal you feel through surf noise. |
| 1.16 kg (2.6 lb), internal Li-ion, USB charged | A full-day swing for adults, manageable for kids; about 10 hours per charge, and the magnetic USB cable also carries Minelab's software updates. |
| PRO-FIND 35 pinpointer (included) | Locates the target in the plug: waterproof to 10 ft (3 m), five sensitivity levels, Ferrous Tone ID, flashlight and vibration, holster and lanyard. Its DIF technology cuts interference with the detector while the pinpointer is switched off in the holster. |
| Adventure Pack: digger, pouch, gloves (included) | Minelab-built recovery tools, not dealer-kit filler. |
| 3-year Minelab warranty on the detector | Control box and coil, backed by an authorized dealer. The PRO-FIND 35 carries Minelab's separate PRO-FIND warranty, registered on its own. |

Which Vanquish bundle is right for you?
Minelab packs the Vanquish 460 two ways. This Discovery Bundle ($479) is the complete kit with the PRO-FIND 35. Already own a pinpointer? The Vanquish 460 Adventure Pack bundle ($399, part 3820-1004) drops the PRO-FIND 35 and saves $80. Want the flagship with two coils instead? The Vanquish 560 Pro-Pack bundle with PRO-FIND 35 and Adventure Pack and the Vanquish 560 Pro-Pack bundle with backpack ($599 each) step up to the V12X and V8X coils and ML60 wireless earbuds. If you only want the machine, the standalone Minelab Vanquish 460 is the same detector, and the Minelab PRO-FIND 35 sells on its own.
Who it is for
First-time detectorists and gift buyers who want the whole hobby in one box - a real, fully waterproof multi-frequency machine plus every tool the first season demands: parks, yards, beaches, creeks.
Honest limits: the 460's wireless is Bluetooth LE Audio with the LC3 codec only, so most older Bluetooth headsets will not pair (the wired headphones in the box always work). The battery is internal, so a day is about 10 hours with no field swap. It has three target tones and Iron Bias 0 to 2 where the 560 offers five tones and Iron Bias to -1. And no Vanquish has a gold prospecting mode.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a real Minelab bundle or a dealer kit?
A factory Minelab bundle with its own Minelab part number, 3820-1005; Minelab sells it as the VANQUISH 460 Discovery Bundle. Most bundles online are dealer-assembled kits with third-party accessories; this one is packed by Minelab with manufacturer-set pricing, so every component is genuine Minelab: the Vanquish 460 with the V10X coil and wired headphones, the PRO-FIND 35 pinpointer, and the Adventure Pack (a heavy-duty Minelab digger with sheath, a finds pouch, and detecting gloves).
Is the Vanquish 460 waterproof?
Yes, fully. The 460 is part of Minelab's 60-series: IP68 rated with the entire detector, control box included, submersible to 16 ft (5 m) per Minelab. That is the headline upgrade over older Vanquish models, whose control boxes were not submersible. The PRO-FIND 35 pinpointer in this bundle is waterproof to 10 ft (3 m).
Is the pinpointer the PRO-FIND 35 or the PRO-FIND 40?
The PRO-FIND 35 (Minelab part 3226-0003), not the PRO-FIND 40. The PRO-FIND 35 is waterproof to 10 ft (3 m), has five sensitivity levels, Ferrous Tone ID, a built-in flashlight, vibration, one-button control, and up to 20 hours from its 9 V battery (included), and it ships with a holster and lanyard. Its DIF technology cuts interference with the detector while the pinpointer is switched off in the holster. The PRO-FIND 40 is Minelab's higher-tier pinpointer and is not part of this bundle.
Are headphones included, and will my Bluetooth headphones work?
Yes, Minelab wired headphones are in the box, along with the magnetic USB charging cable. The Vanquish 460 also has wireless Bluetooth LE Audio, but only with headphones that support LE Audio with the LC3 codec; most older Bluetooth headsets will not pair. Minelab's ML60 earbuds, included with the Vanquish 560 Pro-Pack, are the guaranteed match.
Discovery Bundle or Adventure Bundle, and what about the Vanquish 560?
Minelab's Discovery Bundle (this listing, part 3820-1005) is the Adventure Bundle (part 3820-1004, detector plus Adventure Pack) with the PRO-FIND 35 added. If you already own a pinpointer, buy the Adventure Bundle. Vanquish 460 vs 560: both have four search modes, 30 discrimination segments, 10 sensitivity levels and wireless audio; the 560 adds the larger V12X 12x9 in (30x23 cm) coil, five target tones and Iron Bias to -1, and its Pro-Pack bundles add the V8X coil and ML60 wireless earbuds.
Does the Vanquish 460 bundle find gold?
Yes, the gold most hunters actually find: rings and chains in parks and beach sand, with the PRO-FIND 35 pinpointer speeding every recovery. No Vanquish has a gold prospecting mode, so mineralized goldfields are honest no-go territory for this class; Minelab's Equinox 900 is where a dedicated Gold mode begins, and the Gold Monster 2000 is the nugget machine. As a complete starter kit, though, this bundle removes every excuse to not be hunting this weekend.
Does this bundle qualify for a military discount?
Yes. Minelab offers a 15% military discount on Minelab detectors (accessories excluded). Contact us directly at 256-284-2247 for details. It cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts.
Is History Seekers an authorized Minelab dealer?
Yes. History Seekers Metal Detectors is an authorized Minelab dealer; every Vanquish 460 Discovery Bundle we sell is new, sourced through Minelab's authorized US distributor, and carries the full 3-year Minelab warranty on the Vanquish 460 detector. The PRO-FIND 35 pinpointer carries Minelab's separate PRO-FIND warranty, registered on its own. Your setup questions are answered by detectorists who run Minelab machines on real permissions.
