Description
Teknetics Tek-Point: The Pinpointer That Runs Quiet Next to Your Detector
Two problems kill a pinpointer in the field: it screams on the beach, and it squeals with feedback every time it gets near the detector coil in your other hand. The Teknetics Tek-Point was built against both. It uses pulse induction to stay stable in salt water, black sand, and mineralized ground, and it adds a frequency shift function so it does not interfere with your detector while you dig. That second feature is one almost no competitor lists, and it is exactly the thing you notice the first time you use the tool.
Why the Tek-Point
Pulse induction is the same technology in dedicated beach and gold machines, and it is what lets the Tek-Point keep working in the wet salt sand and hot ground that make ordinary VLF pinpointers chatter. Teknetics backs it with real ground cancellation for stable operation in mineral-rich soil, and the frequency shift that keeps it from fighting your detector. It is fully waterproof, submersible to 6 ft (1.8 m) for one hour, with a sealed battery compartment and a rubber O-ring for the surf and the creek. A Proportional Target Alert ramps audio and vibration as you close on the find, three sensitivity levels tune it from trashy ground to small deep targets, and a bright LED lights the hole. At 9.4 x 1.8 x 1.4 in (240 x 45 x 35 mm) and just 6.35 oz (180 g), it rides light on your belt, and two AA batteries run it about 25 hours. It works with any detector brand you already own.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does frequency shift do on the Tek-Point?
It lets you run the pinpointer right next to your detector without the two interfering. Ordinary pinpointers can squeal with feedback near a coil; the Tek-Point's frequency shift keeps both tools working together.
Will the Tek-Point work in salt water and black sand?
Yes. Its pulse-induction design and ground cancellation keep it stable in wet salt sand, black sand, and mineralized ground where VLF pinpointers chatter. It is submersible to 6 ft (1.8 m) for up to one hour.
How big is it and what does it weigh?
It is 9.4 x 1.8 x 1.4 in (240 x 45 x 35 mm) and 6.35 oz (180 g), light enough to ride on your belt all day.
What batteries does it use?
Two AA batteries, good for roughly 25 hours. No proprietary 9V cell required.
Does it work with any metal detector?
Yes. A pinpointer is a standalone recovery tool and the Tek-Point works alongside any detector brand or model you already own.
