Description

At a glance: The XP Backpack 280 is XP's flagship detecting pack: 32 L / 1,953 cu in in trekking-grade 600D and 1000D polyester, with two main compartments for coils and stems, 10 dedicated pockets with printed location icons, MOLLE webbing, a breathable ventilated back, and an included rain cover. Genuine XP, built to carry a complete multi-machine kit.

Every detectorist has a weather story: the storm that rolled in 40 minutes from the truck, the remote control that rode home in a wet pocket, the headphones that never worked right again. The XP Backpack 280 is XP's answer to hunting in the real world. It is cut from the same 600D and 1000D polyester used in high-end trekking packs, and it ships with a waterproof rain cover that shrugs off heavy rain and mud, so the kit inside stays dry when the sky does not cooperate.

Why the 280 and not the 240?

The XP Backpack 240 is the light one-machine day pack. The 280 is the load hauler: two large main compartments (one for search coils and lower stems, one for stems and a mattock), 10 additional pockets for pinpointer, headphones, accessories, smartphone or remote, and a waterproof paper and map pocket. XP printed location icons on the pocket strips and inside the compartments, so you always know where a piece of gear lives, and so does the friend who packs up while you finish the last plug. Nine adjustment straps across five zones, a quilted hip belt, and a breathable ventilated back panel move the 4.1 lb / 1,850 g pack's load onto your hips and keep your back cool on the walk in. MOLLE: the pack that grows with your kit

The 280 carries the same MOLLE attachment bands used on military load-bearing gear: horizontal webbing sewn into flat loops that accepts XP and aftermarket accessories. Clip the XP Finds Pouch, a remote control cover, or a pinpointer holster where you want it and your most-used gear stays within reach while you swing. If you want the pouch from day one, the Backpack 280 + Finds Pouch kit packages both together. The layout suits XP machines on the telescopic S stem, including the Deus, Deus II, ORX, and ICON families.

A dry, organized, comfortable kit keeps you in the field longer, and time in the field is what fills the pouch. Dig the beep, save the context, because the story is more important than the artifact.
