What Fits the XP ICON and ICON X: FMF Coils, Audio & Accessories
The short answer: the XP ICON and ICON X run on the same FMF ecosystem as the Deus II. XP's manual lists the four Deus II FMF search coils (9 in / 22.5 cm, 11 in / 28 cm, 13x11 in / 34x28 cm, and the HF2 elliptical) and the WSA ST and WSA XL ST wireless headphones as ICON-compatible, and the MI-6 pinpointer pairs directly with the ICON remote. The one mistake to avoid: the BH-01 bone-conduction headphones are a Deus II part and do NOT work with the ICON or ICON X. The ICON's dive headset is the BH-02, a different unit built for the ICON remote. The same goes for the Deus II dive, snorkel, and long-reach kits: they are built around the BH-01, so they are not ICON kits. Two more walls: XP's X35 and HF coils belong to the original Deus and ORX, never the ICON, and the WS6 ST headphone-and-control-unit is not listed by XP for the ICON.
Search coils for the ICON and ICON X
The ICON ships with an 11 in / 28 cm FMF coil on its own lower stem. For a second coil, XP's ICON manual lists the Deus II FMF coils by part number, all rated to 65 ft / 20 m and each carrying its own battery. The remote stores several paired coils and switches between them with a single press, and a new coil pairs automatically the first time it goes on charge.
- XP 9 in / 22.5 cm FMF coil: the separation pick for trashy parks, old house sites, and iron-heavy ground.
- XP 11 in / 28 cm FMF coil: the same size the ICON ships with; the spare or the replacement.
- XP 13x11 in / 34x28 cm FMF coil: maximum sweep per pass for open fields and beach.
- XP HF2 elliptical high-frequency coil: the small-gold and micro-jewelry specialist.
Fit note: the ICON itself is rated to 16 ft / 5 m, so the coil's deeper 65 ft / 20 m rating is headroom, not an invitation. The whole detector goes deeper than 5 ft / 1.5 m only with the BH-02 headset and waveguide fitted in place of the remote's standard cap.
Wireless audio for the ICON and ICON X
XP names two current headphones for the ICON range:
- WSA ST headphones: the set XP bundles with the ICON WSA ST packages, and XP's own page states it is compatible with the Deus II and the ICON and ICON X.
- WSA XL ST over-ear headphones: the full over-ear option for long sessions, listed in the ICON manual's compatibility table.
Fit note: the WSA ST is rainproof and the WSA XL ST is rated to 3 ft / 1 m. Neither is a dive headset. For submerged hunting the ICON uses the BH-02 bone-conduction headset, which we can order for you: call 256-284-2247.
Pinpointers
- XP MI-6 pinpointer: pairs with the ICON remote, so its signals come through your headphones, and the remote can ring or flash a lost MI-6 from up to 82 ft / 25 m away.
- XP MI-4 pinpointer: the simpler option without the wireless pairing.
Carry, transport, and finds
- XP Backpack 240: the day-hunt pack; the ICON's telescopic stem folds to 22.8 in / 58 cm and fits inside.

Digging gear is not brand-specific; these are the tools we match to the ICON's typical ground:
