Minelab states it plainly, and no other dealer tells you: the coils for the Gold Monster 1000 and Gold Monster 2000 are not interchangeable, due to the different technologies in each detector and the physical size of the coils. This GM 05 fits the Gold Monster 1000 only. If you swing a Gold Monster 2000, your accessory coil is the separate GM 10 for the Gold Monster 2000 (part 3011-0527), a different part with a different SKU. Minelab also confirms only the GM 05 and GM 10 fit the Gold Monster 1000, and no aftermarket coils exist for it, so these two genuine coils are the machine's entire coil range.
Why the 5 in coil earns its place
The Gold Monster 1000 ships with this coil for a reason: at 45 kHz chasing tiny targets, a small Double-D concentrates sensitivity where the gold actually sits and rejects the surrounding mineralized noise. Crevices, dig-out piles, exposed bedrock, and worked-over patches all favor the small coil; when you move to open ground and want coverage and depth, step up to the GM 10 10x6 in elliptical for the same machine.
