What Fits the Minelab Gold Monster 1000: GM 05 and GM 10 Coils, Audio & Charging
The short answer: the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 takes two coils, the GM 05 5 in / 13 cm round Double-D it ships with and the GM 10 10x6 in / 25x15 cm elliptical (part 3011-0336). Audio is wired only, power is the removable Li-ion pack with an AA fallback, and the Universal Mains Charger and the shaft mounting kit are the genuine spares. Everything on this page fits the Gold Monster 1000, every link is a product we carry, and if you are unsure, call 256-284-2247 and ask.
The one mistake to avoid: Minelab uses the GM 10 name for two different coils. The Gold Monster 1000 takes part 3011-0336; the Gold Monster 2000 takes part 3011-0527, and neither fits the other machine. The 2000's coils never fit the 1000. What the two machines DO share is their Li-ion batteries and chargers, so a 1000 owner who steps up keeps every spare battery and charger.
Search coils for the Gold Monster 1000
Both Gold Monster 1000 coils are waterproof to 3.3 ft / 1 m; the control box is rain-resistant only, so keep the box dry when you work a creek.
- Minelab GM 05, 5 in / 13 cm round Double-D: the coil in the current US box, and the coil for bedrock crevices, tight ground, and the smallest gold. The spare or the replacement.
- Minelab GM 10, 10x6 in / 25x15 cm elliptical (part 3011-0336): roughly twice the sweep per pass for open washes and tailing piles, and a little more depth on the larger nuggets.
Audio for the Gold Monster 1000
The Gold Monster 1000 is wired audio only, through a 3.5 mm / 1/8 in socket, with no wireless option.
- DetectorPro Gray Ghost Gold headphones for the Gold Monster 1000: full-cup muffs with a speaker chosen to bring up the faint whisper of small gold, wired for this machine's socket.
- Minelab headphone adaptor cable, 1/8 in to 1/4 in (part 3011-0369): Minelab lists it for the Gold Monster; it lets any full-size 1/4 in headphone plug in.
- Minelab Koss UR-30 headphones, 1/4 in jack (part 3011-0214): the classic wired over-ear set, used on the 1000 through the adaptor cable above.
Power, charging, and mounting parts
- Minelab Universal Mains Charger (part 3011-0339): the wall charger with four interchangeable regional plug heads. Minelab lists it for the Gold Monster 1000, the Gold Monster 2000, the SDC 2300, and the GPX 6000, so one charger covers a whole gold kit on a trip.
- Minelab Gold Monster shaft mounting kit (part 3011-0363): the full hardware refresh, including the armrest with strap, the shaft clamps, and the AA battery holder that gives the 1000 its AA fallback.
Fit note: the box already includes two Li-ion batteries, the universal AC adapter, the car battery charging cable, and the AA adapter. The mains charger is the spare, or the one that stays in the truck.
