Description
The X-Terra Elite Expedition Pack finds the targets; the PRO-FIND 40 digs them out of the plug before your knees give up. This factory bundle (part 3707-1014) is Minelab's find-and-recover pairing: the two-coil Expedition Pack, the waterproof pinpointer, and the backpack that hauls it all - one box, one part number.
At a glance
This factory Minelab bundle (part 3707-1014) is the find-and-recover X-Terra setup: the Expedition Pack with two coils (V12X 12x9 in / 30x23 cm and V8X 8x5 in / 20x13 cm) and ML-85 wireless headphones, plus the PRO-FIND 40 waterproof pinpointer and the Minelab backpack. Multi-IQ, IP68 waterproof to 16 ft (5 m). Minelab's own name for it is the X-Terra Elite Expedition Pack Field Bundle, and the part number to compare against any dealer kit is 3707-1014. History Seekers Metal Detectors is an authorized Minelab dealer; every X-Terra Elite Expedition Pack Field Bundle we sell is new, sourced through Minelab's authorized US distributor, and carries the full 3-year Minelab warranty on the X-Terra Elite (the PRO-FIND 40 pinpointer carries its own 2-year Minelab warranty).
Why this pairing works in the field
Two coils answer the ground - V12X for open coverage, V8X for iron-choked corners - and the PRO-FIND 40 answers the hole, locating the target in the plug in seconds so you dig smaller and recover faster. The pinpointer is waterproof to 10 ft (3 m), runs five sensitivity levels, Ferrous Tone ID, an LED flashlight, vibration and Rapid Re-tune on a 9 V battery good for up to 20 hours, and its DIF technology reduces interference with your detector: switch the pointer off between targets and the detector never hears it, which is exactly the detail dealer-assembled kits with third-party pinpointers get wrong. Every component is Minelab-built under one part number with manufacturer-set pricing.
Other dealers sell this same detector inside kits of their own making: the Expedition Pack plus a house-brand digger and pouch under a name like Basic or Ultimate, sometimes on a page whose spec table says headphones are not included while its highlights list the ML-85. This bundle is Minelab's own part number with Minelab's own pinpointer and backpack, so what the contents photo shows is what the box holds. Within the family, it sits between the Expedition Pack alone (the pick if you already own a pinpointer and a pack) and the Adventure Pack bundle, which adds a digger, finds pouch and gloves on top of everything here.
Technical specs and what they do in the field
| Multi-IQ simultaneous multi-frequency | The same core technology as Minelab's flagship Equinox: a gold ring and a deep silver coin read clearly on the same swing, even on wet salt sand. |
| Park, Field and Beach modes with 6 custom profiles; Park and Field also run a single 15 kHz | Save two setups per mode and switch sites without rebuilding settings; drop to 15 kHz when a site rewards one frequency. |
| Sensitivity 1 to 25; recovery speed 1 to 3; automatic, manual and tracking ground balance | Fine gain control for chatter-free running, faster recovery to separate targets in trash, and a machine that runs quiet in red clay and wet salt. |
| TWO coils: V12X 12x9 in (30x23 cm) + V8X 8x5 in (20x13 cm) | The big coil covers open ground with depth; the small one threads targets out of trashy, iron-heavy sites. The "which coil do I need" question is answered: both. |
| IP68, waterproof to 16 ft (5 m) | Surf line, creeks, and rained-out fields are all fair game. |
| 119 Target ID segments, adjustable Iron Bias | Dig good targets, skip the junk. |
| 2.9 lb (1.3 kg); collapses to 25 in (63 cm) | Light on the arm, short in the pack. |
| ML-85 low-latency wireless headphones included | No cable to snag, no lag between signal and your ears. |
| Flashlight, red backlit display and keypad, handgrip vibration | The hunt does not end at sundown. |
| PRO-FIND 40 pinpointer, waterproof to 10 ft (3 m), 9 V battery up to 20 hours | In-hole recovery in seconds: five sensitivity levels, Ferrous Tone ID, LED flashlight and vibration; DIF reduces interference with the detector once the pointer is switched off. |
| Minelab detecting backpack (bundle exclusive) | One kit, one carry. |
| 3-year Minelab warranty on the X-Terra Elite; 2-year on the PRO-FIND 40 | Coil and control box for three years, pinpointer for two, backed by an authorized Minelab dealer. |

Which X-Terra bundle is right for you?
This bundle, part 3707-1014, covers find-and-recover: detector, two coils, wireless headphones, pinpointer and pack. The X-Terra Elite Expedition Bundle with PRO-FIND 40, Adventure Pack and Backpack (part 3707-1016) is the complete loadout: everything here plus the Adventure Pack digger with sheath, finds pouch and gloves. If you already own a pinpointer and a pack, the Minelab X-Terra Elite Expedition Pack (part 3707-0003) is the same detector with both coils and the ML-85 headphones and nothing else, and the Minelab X-Terra Elite alone ships with the V12X coil only. Every coil, headphone and part that fits is on our X-Terra Pro and Elite accessories page.
Who it is for
Detectorists who want the recovery tool on the belt from day one: two coils for any ground, a waterproof pinpointer for every hole, and the pack that carries it all. It is a beginner to intermediate setup: Park mode is ready to swing out of the box, and the six custom profiles are there when you want to tune.
Honest limits: the X-Terra Elite has no dedicated gold prospecting mode (Park, Field and Beach only), the ML-85 wireless headphones are for land use because wireless audio does not travel through water, and the PRO-FIND 40 runs on a 9 V battery rather than a rechargeable cell, so keep a spare in the backpack. If Multi-IQ on a smaller budget is the goal, Minelab's Vanquish 460 and 560 also run Multi-IQ for less; the X-Terra Elite in this bundle answers with 25 sensitivity levels where they have 10, six saved search profiles where they have one, a 15 kHz single-frequency option, adjustable recovery speed, manual or tracking ground balance, and a shaft that collapses to 25 in (63 cm).
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a real Minelab bundle or a dealer kit?
A factory Minelab bundle with its own Minelab part number, 3707-1014, which Minelab calls the X-Terra Elite Expedition Pack Field Bundle. Most bundles online are dealer-assembled kits with third-party accessories; this one is packed by Minelab with manufacturer-set pricing, so every component is genuine Minelab under one part number.
Is the PRO-FIND 40 waterproof?
Yes. The PRO-FIND 40 is waterproof to 10 ft (3 m), so it works in the plug, the creek and wet sand alongside the waterproof X-Terra Elite. It has five sensitivity levels, Ferrous Tone ID, an LED flashlight, vibration and Rapid Re-tune, runs on a 9 V battery for up to 20 hours, and comes with a holster and lanyard. Its DIF technology reduces interference with your detector once the pointer is switched off.
Is the X-Terra Elite waterproof?
Yes. IP68 rated and submersible to 16 ft (5 m), and both included coils are waterproof. The ML-85 wireless headphones are for land use; wireless audio does not travel through water, so submerged hunting means wired waterproof headphones through the 3.5 mm jack.
Does this bundle qualify for a military discount?
Yes. Minelab offers a 15% military discount on Minelab detectors (accessories excluded). Contact us directly at 256-284-2247 for details. It cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts.
Which X-Terra Elite bundle adds the Adventure Pack?
The step-up bundle, Minelab part 3707-1016, adds the Minelab Adventure Pack: a digger with sheath, a finds pouch and gloves. Everything in this bundle is in that one too. If you already own a pinpointer and a pack, the X-Terra Elite Expedition Pack (part 3707-0003) is the detector, both coils and the ML-85 headphones alone.
Will this X-Terra Elite bundle detect gold jewelry?
Yes, that is squarely inside its game. The X-Terra Elite detects gold rings, chains and earrings on its Multi-IQ platform, in fresh or salt water as well as dry ground, and this bundle's PRO-FIND 40 pinpointer speeds up the moment that matters most with jewelry: getting a small target out of the plug before it disappears back into the sand. What the Elite does not have is a prospecting mode (Park, Field and Beach only), so gold nuggets in mineralized ground call for a different machine: within Minelab, the Equinox 900 with its Gold mode or the dedicated Gold Monster 2000.
What warranty comes with this bundle, and is History Seekers an authorized dealer?
History Seekers Metal Detectors is an authorized Minelab dealer; every X-Terra Elite Expedition Pack Field Bundle we sell is new, sourced through Minelab's authorized US distributor, and carries the full 3-year Minelab warranty on the X-Terra Elite (the PRO-FIND 40 pinpointer carries its own 2-year Minelab warranty). Register the detector with Minelab after purchase to keep the warranty record on file.
