The Expedition Pack answers the question every serious detectorist hits within a month of buying a detector: which coil do I actually need? Minelab's answer here is both. It is fully waterproof to IP68, 16 ft / 5 m, so the surf line, a creek, and a rained-out field are all fair game.
Because it is a pack, the audio problem is already solved: ML-85 low-latency wireless headphones are in the box, no cable to snag and no lag between the signal and your ears. Three search modes (Park, Field, Beach) with two savable profiles each, 119 Target ID segments, adjustable Iron Bias, and full ground balance give you the control to dig good targets and skip the junk. And the hunt does not end at sundown: a built-in flashlight, red backlit display and keypad, and handgrip vibration keep you going in low light and quiet zones.
