Fitment: the connector decides
A Teknetics coil either screws in or plugs in, and the wrong one will not attach at all. This coil is the SCREW-IN type. First Texas lists its hosts as the Alpha, Delta, Gamma and Omega (the machines hobbyists call the Greek series), the EuroTek Pro, and the Fisher F11, F22 and F44 that share the same connector. We stock every one of those hosts: Teknetics Alpha 2000, Teknetics Delta 4000, Teknetics Gamma 6000, Teknetics Omega 8500, Teknetics EuroTek Pro, Fisher F11, Fisher F22, Fisher F44. It does not attach to the plug-in base EuroTek or Digitek, and note one thing carefully: unlike the 5 in / 13 cm and 11 in / 28 cm coils, First Texas does not list this 10 in / 25 cm model for the G2, G2+ or Gold Bug machines.
Why this coil: the concentric case
Every other size in this line is a Double-D or standard round; this one is the concentric, and the winding is the argument. A concentric field is symmetrical front to back, which makes pinpointing noticeably more precise and keeps target response crisp in agreeable ground. The elliptical shell then adds sweep width, the thing you want on plowed fields, pastures and dry beach sand where finds sit thin and scattered. Pick the 11 in / 28 cm Double-D instead when your soil runs hot and mineralized; pick this coil when the ground is cooperative and you want coverage plus pinpoint accuracy in one head. The 5 in / 13 cm stays in the bag for trashy corners a wide coil reads as a single blur.

Will it fit my detector? This is the screw-in connector type. It fits the Teknetics Alpha 2000, Delta 4000, Gamma 6000, Omega 8500 and EuroTek Pro, plus the Fisher F11, F22 and F44 (and the Fisher F5, which we do not stock). It does not fit the plug-in base EuroTek or Digitek, and First Texas does not list this 10 in / 25 cm size for the G2, G2+ or Gold Bug machines; those hosts take the 5 in / 13 cm or 11 in / 28 cm coils instead.
Concentric or Double-D: which do I want? A concentric winding produces a symmetrical cone that pinpoints tightly and reads cleanly in mild to moderate soil. A Double-D runs quieter in heavily mineralized ground.
