This coil uses the First Texas screw-in connector that the Fisher F-series and the Gold Bug, Gold Bug Pro and Gold Bug DP share. It does not fit the Gold Bug 2, which has its own dedicated connector, or the plug-in Teknetics EuroTek and Digitek. Why the 5 in Double-D coil
On a high-frequency gold machine, coil size is sensitivity to small targets. The 5 inch Double-D concentrates the Gold Bug's 19 kHz field into a tight footprint that responds to sub-gram gold a larger coil can skim over, and it separates a nugget from hot rocks and trash in the mineralized ground where gold lives. It also gets into the tight places gold hides: bedrock crevices, tailing piles, brushy creek banks. For covering more open ground on the same machine, the 10 or 11 inch Double-D reaches deeper; for the trashiest, tightest gold ground, this 5 inch is the tool.
