Why the Vanquish 560 Pro-Pack
The Pro-Pack runs the same Multi-IQ simultaneous multi-frequency engine as the 560, reading multiple frequencies at once so the target ID you see on dry dirt is the one you see in wet salt sand and mineralized red clay, with no frequency to pick and no ground balance routine to learn. Four search modes (Park, Field, Beach and a custom User Profile), 30 discrimination segments across a 119-level target ID scale (ferrous -19 to 0, non-ferrous 1 to 99), 10 sensitivity levels, automatic 19-channel noise cancel and five target tones come standard. The 560 platform also carries Iron Bias from -1 to 2, four levels, and that -1 setting is the aggressive unmasking position Equinox owners prize: the Vanquish 460 stops at 0 and cannot go there.
What sets the Pro-Pack apart from the base 560 is the second search coil and the wireless audio. Run the V12X for depth and coverage in open ground, then click on the V8X when the site turns into a trash pit, a tot lot or a cellar hole full of nails; both coils share one connector, so the swap takes seconds. The ML60 earbuds use Bluetooth LE Audio with the LC3 codec for low-latency target feedback, and they are the guaranteed match for this detector's wireless, which older Bluetooth headsets cannot join. Two search coils, two jobs
The V12X 12 x 9 in (30 x 23 cm) Double-D search coil gives you wide coverage and depth for parks, fields and beaches, and it is the coil to leave on for the wet slope at low tide. The V8X 8 x 5 in (20 x 13 cm) Double-D search coil tightens the detection footprint for better separation around obstacles and in dense trash: nail-filled cellar holes, tot lots with pull tabs every foot, creek gravel between rocks. Both coils share the same connector and both come with a skid plate, so swapping in the field takes seconds and the coil you are not using rides in the pack. Save a User Profile for each coil and the switch is two button presses.
Your Equinox coils cross over
Here is a detail most buyers miss: the Vanquish 60 Series accepts the Minelab Equinox EQX06, EQX11 and EQX15 coils as well as its own V-series coils. If you already own an Equinox, this makes a superb waterproof second machine, and your existing coils come with you. It also means the V8X, V10X and V12X coils interchange across the whole Vanquish family, so a household running more than one Minelab, whether it is a spouse, a kid learning the hobby or your own backup, shares one set of coils instead of buying doubles. Honest limits: the detector inside is identical to the standard Vanquish 560, so the Pro-Pack is only the better buy if you want the V8X and the wireless audio. Wireless is Bluetooth LE Audio with the LC3 codec only; the ML60 earbuds in the box are the sure thing, older Bluetooth headsets will not pair, and wired headphones are not included with this kit. The earbuds are for land, beach and wading; when the control box goes under, the detector's IP68 rating is the detector's, and the built-in speaker or a wired headset on the 3.5 mm (1/8 in) socket is the audio path.
