Description

Every picked-over park and hunted-out field still holds its deepest targets, sitting just below where the last hunter's coil gave up. Reaching them is the job of the 11 in / 28 cm Double-D, the largest and deepest-reaching standard coil First Texas offers for these machines. The DD winding is why it works where big coils usually struggle: two overlapping D-shaped windings cancel ground mineralization, so the coil stays quiet and stable in hot soil instead of chattering.

At a glance: genuine Teknetics 11 in / 28 cm Double-D search coil, SCREW-IN (twist-lock) connector, part number 11COIL-TEK. This is the maximum-depth option in the screw-in family. Two connector styles exist in this line; check yours against the host list before ordering.

Confirmed hosts: the complete list, not a partial one

Some listings for this exact part carry only the parent company's name and a four-machine compatibility list. The part is a Teknetics part, and the verified host list is three times longer. This screw-in coil fits: Teknetics Alpha 2000, Teknetics Delta 4000, Teknetics Gamma 6000, Teknetics Omega 8500, Teknetics G2+, Teknetics EuroTek Pro, Fisher F11, Fisher F19, Fisher F22, Fisher F44, Fisher Gold Bug, Fisher Gold Bug Pro. First Texas also prints the G2, Minuteman and Fisher F5, which we do not stock. It will not connect to the plug-in base EuroTek or Digitek.

Why this coil: depth, and the factory G2+ upgrade

Coil diameter is the nearest thing detecting has to a depth control. An 11 in / 28 cm field reaches past the smaller sizes in this line and sweeps a wider path while doing it, which is what you want chasing the deep coin, the cellar-hole target or the relic under the plow zone. There is a second argument buyers rarely hear: search for a bigger G2 coil and most of what returns is aftermarket. This is the factory option, the 11 in / 28 cm Double-D First Texas itself lists for the G2+, Gold Bug and Gold Bug Pro, with the exact connector those machines take. The trade-offs are real: more weight on the shaft, and less separation in dense trash, where the 5 in / 13 cm takes over.

Questions hunters ask about this coil

Which detectors take it? Screw-in hosts only: the Teknetics Alpha 2000, Delta 4000, Gamma 6000, Omega 8500, G2+ and EuroTek Pro, and the Fisher F11, F19, F22, F44, Gold Bug and Gold Bug Pro. The base EuroTek and Digitek are plug-in machines and take a different coil.

Is bigger always deeper? On coin-sized and larger targets, yes, a larger coil reaches farther. What you give up is small-target sensitivity and separation between close targets, so the 11 in / 28 cm earns its keep on open ground and deep sites rather than trash-filled yards.

What about creeks and surf? The coil head itself is built to go under water; the control box is not. Rated depth varies by machine, so call 256-284-2247 and we will verify yours before it gets wet.

History Seekers is a small American shop and an authorized First Texas dealer; Fisher, Teknetics and Bounty Hunter all come out of the same El Paso factory. Everyone who answers our phone hunts coins, relics and gold on their own time, so ask us anything about matching this coil to your ground. The story is more important than the artifact.
