What Fits the Garrett AT Pro, AT Max and AT Gold: Audio, Z-Lynk & Accessories
The short answer: the Garrett AT Pro, AT Max, and AT Gold share the AT platform's watertight 2-pin headphone connector, so they share their wired audio: the MS-2 with 2-pin AT connector for land and the Garrett Submersible Headphones for underwater. The AT Max has Z-Lynk wireless built in and pairs with the MS-3 and CS-3 headphones directly; the AT Pro and AT Gold go wireless through the MS-3 kit's WT-1 transmitter. Everything on this page fits the AT machines, every link is a product we stock, and if you are unsure, call 256-284-2247 and ask.
The one mistake to avoid: the AT machines do not have a 1/4 in headphone jack. They use Garrett's sealed 2-pin AT connector, so the MS-2 with 1/4 in plug, the ClearSound, and the TreasureSound do not plug in. The Vortex Submersible Headphones are the other trap: they carry the Vortex's 1/8 in waterproof jack and Garrett prints "works only with Vortex" on the product art. On an AT, underwater audio means the Garrett Submersible Headphones with the 2-pin connector, nothing else.
Search coils for the AT Pro, AT Max, and AT Gold
The AT Pro and AT Max ship with the 8.5x11 in / 22x28 cm PROformance Double-D coil and the AT Gold with the 5x8 in / 13x20 cm PROformance Double-D. Garrett's accessory coils for the AT series are not on our shelves yet; we are an authorized Garrett dealer and can order them, so call 256-284-2247 with the size you want.
Wired audio for the AT series
- Garrett MS-2 headphones with 2-pin AT connector: the land headphone with the watertight plug, so the connection at the detector stays sealed against rain, splash, and shallow dunks. The AT Pro and AT Gold ship with this set.
- Garrett Submersible Headphones: fully submersible ear cups and the 2-position underwater AT connector, the required link between a waterproof AT and your ears on a river bottom or the low-tide line.
Wireless audio for the AT series
Garrett's Z-Lynk link runs at a 17 millisecond delay, six times faster than Bluetooth by Garrett's measurement, so the beep still lands while your coil is over the target.
- Garrett MS-3 Z-Lynk wireless headphones: the AT Max has the Z-Lynk transmitter built in and ships with the MS-3, so this is the spare or the second pair for the Max.
- Garrett MS-3 Z-Lynk kit with WT-1 transmitter: the conversion for the AT Pro and AT Gold. The WT-1 clips to the detector on the 2-pin AT cable in the box and sends the audio to the MS-3.
- Garrett CS-3 Z-Lynk wireless headphones: the same link in a 5.4 oz / 153 g on-ear frame for hot-weather hunts; pairs with the AT Max directly or with a WT-1 on the Pro and Gold.
Fit note: wireless works for shallow wading but not when the detector is fully submerged, and the MS-3 must never go under. When the control box goes under, it is the Submersible Headphones above.
Pinpointers
- Garrett Pro-Pointer AT Z-Lynk: pairs with the AT Max so its alarms come through your headphones; runs standalone beside the AT Pro and AT Gold.
- Garrett Pro-Pointer AT: the fully waterproof standard, the natural partner to the AT platform's all-terrain waterproofing.
- Garrett Pro-Pointer II: the land pinpointer for hunters who do not need a submersible one.
Finds and carry
- Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch: the draining mesh pouch with a pinpointer sleeve, built for the same wet ground the AT series hunts.
- Garrett Camo Diggers Pouch: the deep zippered finds bag with webbing for a Pro-Pointer or digging tool.
Digging and recovery
Digging gear is not brand-specific; these are the tools we match to the ground an AT hunts:
- CKG digging tool with belt sheath: the park-friendly hand digger.
- CKG carbon fiber detecting shovel: serrated root-cutter blade for fields and relic permissions.
- CKG Pro 11x9 stainless sand scoop: the wet-sand and surf workhorse for a machine built to go in the water.
Don't own the machine yet?
The Garrett AT Pro is the all-terrain standard, the AT Max adds built-in Z-Lynk wireless, true all-metal mode, and the MS-3 headphones in the box, and the AT Gold is the gold-prospecting version with true all-metal mode and the 5x8 in / 13x20 cm coil. Garrett's newer waterproof line, the Vortex, has its own fitment page, and the Axiom pulse induction gold machine has its own.
