Description
Finding the target is half the job. The other half happens on your knees, in a hole, with daylight fading - and that is the half the EQUINOX 900 Field Bundle solves in the factory: the full Equinox 900 kit plus the PRO-FIND 40 waterproof pinpointer and the Minelab backpack, one part number (3720-1003), packed by Minelab.
At a glance
The Minelab Equinox 900 Field Bundle (part 3720-1003) packs the full Equinox 900 kit plus the PRO-FIND 40 waterproof pinpointer and the Minelab detecting backpack, under one factory part number. Multi-IQ multi-frequency, IP68 waterproof to 16 ft (5 m), 3-year Minelab warranty on the Equinox 900 and 2-year Minelab warranty on the PRO-FIND 40. History Seekers Metal Detectors is an authorized Minelab dealer; every Equinox 900 Field Bundle we sell is new, sourced through Minelab's authorized US distributor, and carries the full 3-year Minelab warranty on the Equinox 900 (the PRO-FIND 40 carries its own 2-year Minelab warranty).
Why the pinpointer belongs in the box
A pinpointer is the first accessory nearly every detectorist buys anyway - usually a week after the detector, at full price, from wherever ships fastest. Minelab prices this bundle itself and publishes its own regular price above it, so the discount is manufacturer math, not a dealer's invented markdown. The PRO-FIND 40 is Minelab's top pinpointer: waterproof to 10 ft (3 m) in fresh and salt water, five sensitivity levels, Ferrous Tone ID that changes tone on iron before you dig, an LED flashlight, vibration that builds as you close on the target, Rapid Re-tune for mineralized ground, and a 9 V battery good for up to 20 hours, with holster and lanyard in its box. Its DIF (Detector Interference Free) technology reduces interference between the pinpointer and the Equinox 900 above it: switch the pointer off between targets and the detector never hears it. A matched pair, not a random pointer thrown into a dealer kit.
Technical specs and what they do in the field
| Multi-IQ simultaneous multi-frequency; 4/5/10/15/20/40 kHz singles | Deep silver and small gold register on the same sweep; drop to 40 kHz single for small gold in hot ground. |
| 119 target IDs (ferrous -19 to 0, non-ferrous 1 to 99) | Iron declares itself on its own scale instead of bleeding into good-target numbers. |
| Park, Field, Beach and Gold modes; 8 custom search profiles; recovery speed 1 to 8; iron bias -1 to 9 | A saved setup for every site you hunt, and the separation to pull a coin from beside a nail in trashy ground. |
| EQX11 11 in (28 cm) + EQX06 6 in (15 cm) coils in every 900 box | Coverage from the 11 in (28 cm) coil, surgical separation in trash from the 6 in (15 cm) - two jobs, one machine. |
| IP68, waterproof to 16 ft (5 m) | Wade, surf-hunt, and work flooded sites. |
| 2.8 lb (1.27 kg), collapses to 24 in (61 cm) | All-day swinging; packs into carry-on luggage. |
| ML85 low-latency wireless headphones included | Crisp responses in sync with your swing. |
| PRO-FIND 40 waterproof pinpointer (bundle exclusive): 10 ft (3 m), 5 sensitivity levels, Ferrous Tone ID, LED flashlight, vibration, 9 V battery up to 20 hours | Locates the target in the plug in seconds: smaller holes, faster recovery, no shovel-struck finds. |
| Minelab detecting backpack (bundle exclusive) | One kit, one carry. |
| 3-year Minelab warranty on the Equinox 900; 2-year Minelab warranty on the PRO-FIND 40 | Backed by Minelab and by an authorized dealer. |

Minelab 15% Military Discount
Minelab offers a 15% military discount on Minelab detectors (accessories excluded), and this bundle is built on the Equinox 900. Contact us directly at 256-284-2247 for details and to order with the discount. Not combinable with other promotions or discounts.
Which Equinox 900 bundle is right for you?
The Field Bundle is the find-and-recover pick. Drop to the Equinox 900 Essentials Bundle if you already own a pinpointer. Step to the Equinox 900 Recovery Bundle if the EQX15 big coil matters more than the pointer, or take the Equinox 900 Ultimate Bundle and get both. Every bundle is built on the same Minelab Equinox 900 with both EQX11 and EQX06 coils and the ML85 headphones; the bundles add recovery and carry gear on top. Other dealers sell this same configuration under their own names ("Bundle #2", "holiday bundle"); the Minelab part number to compare is 3720-1003.
Who it is for
Detectorists who want to hunt the day the box arrives with nothing left to order: parks, relic permissions, beaches, and creeks, with the recovery tool already on the belt. Honest limits: the Equinox 900's Gold mode is real crossover capability, not a deep-nugget specialist, and the ML85 wireless headphones do not work submerged, so fully underwater hunting needs wired waterproof headphones on the detector's 3.5 mm port.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Equinox 900 Field Bundle a real Minelab bundle or a dealer kit?
A factory Minelab bundle with its own Minelab part number, 3720-1003. Most bundles online are dealer-assembled kits with third-party accessories; this one is packed by Minelab with manufacturer-set pricing, so every component is genuine Minelab.
Is the PRO-FIND 40 pinpointer in this bundle waterproof?
Yes. The PRO-FIND 40 is waterproof to 10 ft (3 m) in fresh and salt water, so it works in the plug, in the creek, and in wet sand alongside the waterproof Equinox 900. It also has five sensitivity levels, Ferrous Tone ID, an LED flashlight, vibration and DIF technology that reduces interference with your detector.
Is the Equinox 900 waterproof?
Yes. IP68 rated and fully submersible to 16 ft (5 m), with dedicated Beach modes. The ML85 wireless headphones are for land use; submerged hunting requires wired waterproof headphones.
Does this bundle qualify for a military discount?
Yes. Minelab offers a 15% military discount on Minelab detectors (accessories excluded). Contact History Seekers directly at 256-284-2247 for details and to order with the discount. It cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts.
Field, Essentials, Recovery or Ultimate: which Equinox 900 bundle?
All four are factory Minelab bundles built on the same Equinox 900 with both coils and the ML85 headphones. Essentials adds only the backpack. Field adds the backpack and the PRO-FIND 40 pinpointer. Recovery adds the backpack and the EQX15 15 in (38 cm) coil for open-field depth. Ultimate adds the backpack, the pinpointer and the EQX15. Most detectorists start with the Field Bundle; hunters who want every coil size step up to Ultimate.
Is the Equinox 900 Field Bundle good for gold?
Genuinely, yes. The Equinox 900 carries a dedicated Gold mode (Gold 1 and Gold 2 profiles) plus a 40 kHz single frequency for small gold in mineralized soils, and this bundle's PRO-FIND 40 pinpointer earns its keep fastest in gold country, where a two-gram target in a pile of dug earth can eat ten minutes without one. Gold jewelry anywhere is routine. When prospecting becomes the main event, dedicated Minelab machines like the Gold Monster 2000 and GPX 6000 take over; until then, the 900 covers every hunt and can honestly find gold along the way.
What warranty comes with the Equinox 900 Field Bundle, and who am I buying from?
