Description
There is a version of this hobby where the gear question is simply finished: every coil size, the recovery tool, the audio, and the pack that carries it, bought once. That is the EQUINOX 900 Ultimate Bundle - everything Minelab makes for the Equinox 900, packed in the factory under one part number (3720-1007).
At a glance
The Minelab Equinox 900 Ultimate Bundle (part 3720-1007) is the complete system: the full Equinox 900, the EQX15 15 in (38 cm) coil (all three EQX sizes), the PRO-FIND 40 waterproof pinpointer, and the Minelab detecting backpack under one factory part number. Multi-IQ, IP68 waterproof to 16 ft (5 m), 3-year Minelab warranty on the Equinox 900 and its EQX coils.
Why the complete system argument holds up
Minelab publishes a $1,587 regular price for this bundle and sells it direct at the same $1,399 - manufacturer math, not a dealer's invented anchor. Buy the 900 alone and the EQX15, the PRO-FIND 40, and a pack will trickle into your cart over the next season anyway, each at full price. The Ultimate closes that loop on day one: three coil sizes for any ground, a waterproof pinpointer with DIF that will not squeal at the detector from the holster, and the purpose-built backpack, all genuine Minelab under one warranty conversation.
Read the other "Ultimate" pages carefully. Most of what dealers sell under that name is either a house-assembled kit (a 900, a pinpointer and a handful of store-brand digging tools) or Minelab's smaller PRO-FIND 40 + backpack pack relabeled. The factory Ultimate is the only Equinox 900 package with all three EQX coil sizes in the box, and the only one you can look up by its Minelab part number.
Technical specs and what they do in the field
| Multi-IQ simultaneous multi-frequency; 4/5/10/15/20/40 kHz singles | Deep silver and small gold register on the same sweep; drop to 40 kHz single for small gold in hot ground. |
| 119 target IDs (ferrous -19 to 0, non-ferrous 1 to 99) | Iron declares itself on its own scale instead of bleeding into good-target numbers. |
| EQX11 11 in (28 cm) + EQX06 6 in (15 cm) coils in every 900 box | Coverage from the 11 in (28 cm) coil, surgical separation in trash from the 6 in (15 cm) - two jobs, one machine. |
| IP68, waterproof to 16 ft (5 m) | Wade, surf-hunt, and work flooded sites. |
| 2.8 lb (1.27 kg), collapses to 24 in (61 cm) | All-day swinging; packs into carry-on luggage. |
| ML85 low-latency wireless headphones included | Crisp responses in sync with your swing. |
| EQX15 15 in (38 cm) coil (bundle exclusive) | A 15 x 12 in (38 x 30 cm) elliptical Double-D for maximum depth and wide coverage on open fields and beaches - completes all three EQX sizes. |
| PRO-FIND 40 waterproof pinpointer (bundle exclusive) | In-hole recovery in seconds; waterproof to 10 ft (3 m), five sensitivity levels, Ferrous Tone ID, LED flashlight and vibration; smaller, cleaner plugs. |
| Minelab detecting backpack (bundle exclusive) | The whole system, one carry. |
| 3-year Minelab warranty | Equinox 900 and EQX coils, backed by an authorized dealer. |

Which Equinox 900 bundle is right for you?
The Ultimate ($1,399) is the everything pick. If you already own a pinpointer, the Recovery Bundle ($1,299) keeps the EQX15 and saves $100. If the big coil can wait, the Field Bundle ($1,199) keeps the PRO-FIND 40. Essentials ($1,099) is the organized entry. Every one of them starts with the same Equinox 900, EQX11 and EQX06 coils and ML85 headphones.
Who it is for
Detectorists who would rather make one decision than four: serious first-machine buyers, upgraders consolidating their kit, and anyone gifting the complete setup instead of a detector that arrives needing three more purchases. It suits coin, relic, jewelry and beach hunters who want the 15 in (38 cm) coil for open ground and the 6 in (15 cm) coil for trash on the same trip. Honest limits: if you already own a pinpointer or will never swing the big coil, one of the smaller bundles above is the better buy, and the Equinox 900's Gold mode is crossover prospecting, not a dedicated nugget machine.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a real Minelab bundle or a dealer kit?
A factory Minelab bundle with its own Minelab part number, 3720-1007. Most bundles online are dealer-assembled kits with third-party accessories; this one is packed by Minelab with manufacturer-set pricing, so every component is genuine Minelab under one warranty conversation.
Is anything left to buy after the Ultimate Bundle?
No detecting essentials. It includes all three EQX coil sizes (6 in / 15 cm, 11 in / 28 cm, 15 in / 38 cm), ML85 wireless headphones, the PRO-FIND 40 waterproof pinpointer, and the Minelab backpack. Wired waterproof headphones for fully submerged hunting are the only optional extra.
Is the Equinox 900 waterproof?
Yes. IP68 rated and fully submersible to 16 ft (5 m), with a dedicated Beach mode. The ML85 wireless headphones are for land use; the PRO-FIND 40 pinpointer is waterproof to 10 ft (3 m).
Ultimate or Recovery Bundle: which one?
Both include the EQX15 coil and backpack. The Ultimate adds the PRO-FIND 40 waterproof pinpointer - the recovery tool most detectorists buy anyway. If you already own a pinpointer, the Recovery Bundle saves the difference.
Can the Equinox 900 Ultimate Bundle find gold?
Yes: the Equinox 900 includes Minelab's Gold mode for mineralized soils, so nuggets are in its vocabulary along with everyday rings and jewelry. This Ultimate Bundle stacks the EQX15 coil for coverage, the PRO-FIND 40 for pinpointing small targets in the hole, and the backpack for reaching quiet ground. For gold-first hunting the ladder continues to the dedicated Gold Monster 2000 and GPX 6000; for everything-plus-gold, the 900 is exactly the tool.
Does this bundle qualify for a military discount?
Yes. Minelab offers a 15% military discount on Minelab detectors (accessories excluded). Contact us directly at 256-284-2247 for details. It cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts.
Is History Seekers an authorized Minelab dealer?
Yes. History Seekers Metal Detectors is an authorized Minelab dealer; every Equinox 900 Ultimate Bundle we sell is new, sourced through Minelab's authorized US distributor, and its Equinox 900 and EQX coils carry the full 3-year Minelab warranty.
