Multi-Process: two detectors in your ears

Since software V4.0 the DEUS II can run two audio channels at once: a low-reactivity channel listening deep and a high-reactivity channel snapping at small targets near ferrous, in the same sweep. XP calls it Multi-Process, with Audio Morphing, Chorus FX and presets including DUAL AXIS, and it is exclusive to ST-generation headphones like the WSA XL ST. On a trashy homesite, that is not a gimmick; it is the point of this configuration.

Coil and remote control are IP68 rated to 20 m (66 ft), with an optional antenna required when the coil is fully submerged. The WSA XL ST headphones are rated to 1 m (3.3 ft): rain and surf spray are fine, diving is not. Divers pair the detector with XP's wired BH-01 bone conduction headphones, rated to the same 20 m (66 ft). We draw that line before checkout, not after.

Who it is for

Relic hunters working colonial and Civil War era homesites, coin shooters in hammered parks and curb strips, and anyone whose best permission is more nails than dirt. It is also the right first DEUS II for hunters who value hearing everything over covering everything, and an intermediate to advanced machine that rewards learning its programs. Honest limits: the 9 in coil covers less ground per pass than the 11 in or 13x11 in, so open-field and wide-beach hunters should look one or two rungs across the ladder above. The WSA XL ST is the heaviest of the three ST headsets at 250 g (8.8 oz) and has no screen; if you want a headset that can run the detector by itself, that is the WS6 ST. Diving requires the optional antenna and the BH-01. Do the WSA XL ST headphones in this bundle support Multi-Process?

Yes. The WSA XL ST is ST-generation, and Multi-Process, XP's two-channel audio processing with Multi-Reactivity, the DUAL AXIS preset and Audio Morphing, works only with ST-generation headphones. It arrived with DEUS II software V4.0 and the current version is V4.1. One requirement: the remote control and the headphones must run the same software version. The discontinued non-ST WS6 and WSA II headphones cannot run it, and XP warns that V4.0 should never be installed with a non-ST headset.

Can I dive with this bundle?

Will my DEUS I coils or headphones work with this DEUS II?

No. X35 and HF coils, WS4 and WS5 headphones and ORX parts are DEUS I products and do not pair with the DEUS II. The DEUS II uses FMF coils in 9 in (22.5 cm), 11 in (28 cm) and 13x11 in (34x28 cm), plus the HF2 elliptical coil, and the current ST headphones. XP's ICON coil is for the ICON and ICON X only, although it works the other way: the DEUS II's FMF coils and ST headphones, including the WSA XL ST, do also fit the ICON and ICON X.

Can the XP DEUS II find gold?

Gold jewelry, yes; any capable detector will hit a lost ring. Natural gold is the real test, and the DEUS II ships with GOLD FIELD, factory program 8, reaching 40 kHz, built for mineralized gold ground with IAR ferrous rejection. For dedicated nugget hunting, XP's sharpest tool is the DEUS II Gold package, which pairs the HF2 elliptical search coil running 9 to 120 kHz with the same remote, and the HF2 coil can be added to this remote later.
