Why this bundle and not one of the other five
Six DEUS II WSA-series configurations, one job each. This one exists for hunters whose sites are measured in acres: the 13x11 in (34x28 cm) elliptical coil sweeps the widest strip per pass and reaches deepest on larger conductive targets, which is why field-relic and beach hunters gravitate to it. Be honest with yourself about ground: in dense iron or tight town lots, the 9 in (22.5 cm) bundle separates better, and the 11 in (28 cm) bundle is the balanced default. The WSA XL ST is the over-ear half of the pairing: 250 g (8.8 oz), IP68 to 1 m (3.3 ft), and it blocks exactly the wind that howls across open fields and shorelines. Multi-Process: two detectors in your ears
Since firmware V4.0, ST-generation headphones like these unlock Multi-Process: two simultaneous audio channels, one slow and deep, one fast and sharp near iron, in a single sweep, with Audio Morphing, Chorus FX and factory presets including DUAL AXIS. On a big coil it earns its keep by keeping deep, soft signals audible while the fast channel guards against the trash you inevitably cross. Almost no dealer explains this; it is the best reason to buy current.

Waterproof, stated honestly
Coil and remote control are IP68 rated to 20 m (66 ft), with an optional antenna required when the coil is fully submerged. The WSA XL ST headphones are rated to 1 m (3.3 ft): wading spray and rain, yes; diving, no. Divers run the wired BH-01 bone conduction headphones, rated with the detector to 20 m (66 ft). Better you know that here than at the water line.
Who it is for
Field-relic hunters walking plowed acreage, beach and surf hunters working tide lines, and cellar-hole prospectors whose targets are deep, scattered and large. If your typical site is a trashy quarter acre, choose smaller glass. Serious gold prospectors belong on the DEUS II Gold package, whose HF2 elliptical search coil runs 9 to 120 kHz.
