The XP ICON-X with WSA ST wireless headphones does not: it is XP's own ICONX-28FMFRCWSAST configuration, so the remote, the ICON 11 in (28 cm) FMF coil, the carbon-middle S-Telescopic Lite stem and the WSA ST headphones arrive together and pair out of the box. The ICON-X is the fully wireless Fast Multi-Frequency (FMF) platform XP built below the DEUS II, with a dedicated 28 kHz single frequency and six factory programs the base ICON does not have. Why This Configuration
XP sells the ICON range four ways, and the choice comes down to two questions: ICON or ICON-X, and headphones or speaker. The ICON-X answer is for the hunter who works iron-littered homesites, trashy parks and wet beaches and wants the finer controls: a 28 kHz single frequency on top of the shared 4 and 14 kHz settings for small, thin and on-edge targets; all six factory programs plus six user slots (the base ICON carries three of each); seven reactivity levels (0 to 6) against the ICON's five; target ID in 0.5-point steps through the ferrous zone; six audio types including the Enhanced response curve that lifts faint distant targets; and the lighter carbon-middle stem. The headphones answer is this page. Other dealers list the WSA ST as an optional add-on or sell the remote-and-coil version and leave audio to you. Here the WSA ST is in the box, and it is the right headphone for this machine: 72 g (2.5 oz), rainproof, with XP's own digital radio link running about 4 ms of latency across 36 automatic channels, so an iron grunt or a faint non-ferrous whisper reaches your ears the moment the coil sees it. On a reactive FMF detector that timing is the whole point.
FMF means the ICON-X transmits and analyzes several frequencies at the same time rather than cycling through them, with the span running 4 to 40 kHz across the programs. In practice that is stable ground handling and steady target ID numbers across mixed mineralization, wet salt sand and iron-heavy ground in one pass, the same engineering family that powers the flagship XP DEUS II. The 28 kHz single-frequency mode is the ICON-X's tool for pinpointing small gold jewelry, thin hammered coins and relics sitting on edge that the lower frequencies walk past, and for isolating a good signal half-hidden beside iron.
One honest correction to how this machine is usually described. The remote and coil are IP68, but XP's own rating is 1.5 m (5 ft) for 30 minutes with the standard remote cap fitted; the 5 m (16 ft) figure applies only when the optional BH-02 bone-conduction headphones replace the cap and the waveguide carries the radio link under water. The WSA ST headphones in this package are rainproof, not submersible. Wet sand, surf line and wading are this package's water; diving is a BH-02 job.
Where It Earns Its Keep
Parks and lawns: the Park program ships with a 10 to 35 notch and the dedicated ferrous bottle-cap filter, which prints caps as two segments (around 10 and 60 to 70) so you can leave them in the ground. Farm fields and old homesites: Field and Trashy Field programs, reactivity up to 6, and the 0.5-point ferrous resolution separate a colonial copper from the nail beside it. Wet sand and surf: Wet Beach and Beach and Surf programs, with Ground PRO mode opening the normally masked ground zone (black sand, deep masked targets) when you want it. Forest and clean ground: the Forest program favors large deep targets at low reactivity. Factory programs reset to stock at every power-on, so experiments are consequence-free; your saved user programs persist.

Who It's For
The ICON-X with WSA ST is for the relic hunter and coin shooter who wants XP's wireless FMF platform without the DEUS II price, for the beach hunter working wet sand and the surf line, and for the first-time XP buyer who wants headphones in the box so the first hunt is the day the box opens. Beginners run it on the factory programs; the controls are there when you grow into them.
Honest limits: there is no gold prospecting program (the six factory programs cover field, forest, park and beach), so sub-gram nuggets in mineralized ground are not its job; gold rings and jewelry are. The WSA ST headphones are rainproof, not submersible, and the 5 m (16 ft) rating needs the BH-02 bone-conduction headphones and waveguide. The ICON 11 in coil is an ICON-only coil, not the DEUS II's 20 m-rated coil. The base ICON's three factory programs are a subset XP has not named in print, so we do not guess at them.

Compatibility: What Fits and What Does Not
The ICON-X runs inside XP's FMF ecosystem. Headphones: WSA ST (included), WSA XL ST and WS6 ST; under water, the BH-02 bone-conduction headphones (the DEUS II's BH-01 is a DEUS II headphone, not an ICON one). Coils: the DEUS II FMF coils fit, the 9 in FMF, 11 in FMF, 13x11 in FMF and the HF2 high-frequency coil; a new coil pairs automatically the first time it goes on charge, and the remote stores several coils for one-click swaps. The original DEUS and ORX X35 and HF coils, and the WS4 and WS5 headphones, are DEUS I products and never fit the ICON-X. The MI-6 pinpointer pairs with the remote as a connected pinpointer, and a paired MI-6 can be found again with the remote's lost-gear finder.

Will my XP DEUS II coils and headphones work with the ICON-X?
The DEUS II FMF coils (9 in, 11 in, 13x11 in and the HF2) and the ST headphones (WSA ST, WSA XL ST, WS6 ST) all pair with the ICON-X, and so does the MI-6 pinpointer. Two things do not: the DEUS II's BH-01 bone-conduction headphones (the ICON uses the BH-02), and anything from the original DEUS or ORX, whose X35 and HF coils and WS4 and WS5 headphones are DEUS I products that never fit the ICON-X. The ICON 11 in coil in this package is likewise an ICON-only coil.
How does the ICON-X compare to the XP DEUS II?
The ICON-X is the lighter, simpler and lower-priced way into XP's FMF ecosystem. The DEUS II runs 49 single frequencies from 4 to 45 kHz instead of three, 12 factory programs instead of six, and a 20 m-rated coil and remote instead of the ICON's 5 m with BH-02, and its ST headphones add Multi-Process stereo processing. If you want the deepest menu and diving depth, the DEUS II is the step up; if you want XP's wireless FMF performance on six ready-made programs, the ICON-X is the right buy.
Will the XP ICON-X find gold?
Gold rings and jewelry, yes: FMF multi-frequency and the 28 kHz single frequency make small jewelry routine in parks and on beaches.
