Description

Buy the detector you will still be tuning two seasons from now. The XP ICON X is the ICON platform with the ceiling raised: a third single frequency at 28 kHz, six factory programs instead of three, finer ferrous ID and a sharper reactivity range. This bundle puts that machine under the WSA XL ST headphones, the over-ear model built to let you hear what the extra resolution finds.

At a glance: XP ICON X Fast Multi Frequency metal detector with ICON28 11 in (28 cm) coil and WSA XL ST over-ear wireless headphones. About 710 g (1.57 lb) fully equipped without the remote on the stem, about 830 g (1.83 lb) with it, per XP. Waterproof to 5 ft (1.5 m) standard, 16 ft (5 m) with BH-02 and waveguide. Made in France.

What is in this bundle

The XP ICON X (remote, ICON28 coil, S-Telescopic Lite Carbon stem) plus the WSA XL ST headphones at 250 g (8.8 oz). Two factory-boxed XP products in one XP-sanctioned pairing, priced at the sum of the two: the pairing costs nothing extra, it just arrives ready to hunt.

Why the ICON X, argued with numbers

Some dealer pages sell the ICON X on vibes: "expanded controls," no figures. Here are the actual deltas over the base XP ICON bundle. Three single frequencies (4, 14 and 28 kHz) against two; the 28 kHz single is the one that matters for thin hammered coins, fine jewelry and small nonferrous bits. Six factory programs, Field, Trashy Field, Forest, Park, Wet Beach and Beach & Surf, each with its own user slot, against three of each. Seven reactivity levels (0 to 6) against five. Ferrous target ID in 0.5-point steps against 1-point, which is exactly where iffy targets get called right. Six audio type settings including XP's enhanced audio curve that lifts faint, distant targets, and closed over-ear cups are where that lift is easiest to hear. Even the stem is upgraded: carbon middle section, about 260 g (9.2 oz) against 285 g (10 oz). Prefer the lighter on-ear WSA ST headphones instead? XP's factory pack covers that. Want the full kit? The Adventure Pack adds the MI-6 pinpointer and Backpack 240.

Waterproof, stated precisely

The ICON X carries an IP68 rating, waterproof 5 m / 16 ft, and the full 5 m is genuine, with conditions XP prints and most listings drop. Standard cap on the remote: 5 ft (1.5 m) for up to 30 minutes, so rain, creeks and surf wading are covered out of the box. Below that, the BH-02 bone conduction headphones must replace the cap with their waterproof connector and the waveguide must carry the radio link. So equipped, the ICON X works as a real underwater metal detector to 16 ft (5 m). The WSA XL ST headphones in this bundle are the dry-land audio, not dive gear.

Who it is for

Detectorists who want the most capable machine in the ICON range in a fully wireless metal detector bundle, jewelry hunters who will use the 28 kHz single, and buyers who know they will grow into settings rather than out of them. On gold: the ICON X is the more gold-capable of the two ICONs thanks to that 28 kHz single, but no factory program here is a dedicated gold program. Serious prospecting belongs to the XP DEUS II Gold package and XP gold pans, and if you are weighing flagships, an XP DEUS 2 bundle is the step past this one.

History Seekers is a small American business and an authorized XP dealer. Everyone here detects, top down, for gold, relics, coins and jewelry, and prior field experience is a hiring requirement, not a coincidence. The person answering your ICON X question may be the one packing your order for the UPS run. We publish XP's real figures, conditions included, because we swing this gear ourselves, and the story is more important than the artifact.
