Description
Headphones are the most personal part of a detecting rig, and plenty of hunters already own the XP set they trust or want to choose one for their own ears. The XP DEUS II (also written Deus 2) RC package with the 11 in (28 cm) FMF search coil skips the bundled headphones entirely: you get the full DEUS II remote control, the all-round coil XP ships as standard, the S-Telescopic stem and the aerial antenna, and you decide the audio. This is the relic hunter's working configuration: the 11 in (28 cm) coil reaches old plow lines at depth, and the same machine goes treasure hunting on a wet salt beach without a coil change.
At a glance
XP DEUS II remote control, 11 in (28 cm) round FMF search coil and S-Telescopic stem, no headphones included. Fast Multi Frequency with 49 single frequencies from 4 to 45 kHz, 12 factory programs. Remote and search coil IP68 waterproof to 20 m (66 ft); the aerial antenna for submerged use is in the box. Weight, from XP's published component figures: 11 in coil 470 g (16.6 oz) plus S-Telescopic stem 370 g (13.1 oz) = 840 g (1.85 lb) in hand with the remote worn on the hip, or 990 g (2.18 lb) with the 150 g remote clipped to the stem. XP publishes no assembled total for the RC package; its "from 750 g" figure describes the WS6 Master configuration with the 9 in coil, not this one. Current DEUS II software: V4.1. Part number DEUS2-28FMFRCEA. History Seekers Metal Detectors is an authorized XP dealer; every XP DEUS II 11 in RC package we sell is new, sourced through XP's authorized US distributor, and carries the full 5-year XP warranty.
Why the no-headphones package
Most dealers bury this configuration as one variant on a page that covers every DEUS II box, and the ones that give it a page describe it as the full package minus a part. Here is what it actually is: the complete detector, the standard coil, the stem and the dive antenna, with the one component a hunter is most likely to already own or to have strong opinions about left out. It is the right buy in three cases. You already own current XP ST headphones from another package or an ICON. You hunt by a wired or bone-conduction setup and would never wear the bundled wireless set. Or you want to pick the headset that fits your head and your sites instead of paying for the one XP chose, which is the whole point of the next section. You choose the audio; the package stops charging you for someone else's choice.
Pair your own XP audio
The DEUS II remote drives three current XP wireless stereo headphones, and all three run Multi-Process, the two-channel stereo audio XP introduced in software V4.0 and refined in V4.1: a low-reactivity channel reaching for deep targets in one ear and a high-reactivity channel picking small non-ferrous out of the iron in the other, in the same sweep, with the DUAL AXIS preset and Audio Morphing on top. The WSA ST is the lightest at 72 g (2.5 oz), foldable and rainproof, with no screen; it also pairs with the XP ICON and ICON X remotes. The WSA XL ST is the full-size over-ear version at 250 g (8.8 oz), rated IP68 to 1 m, for isolation from wind and traffic. The WS6 ST adds a graphic screen and its own controls, so it doubles as a backup controller if the remote ever fails mid-hunt. For diving, the BH-01 bone conduction headphones are wired, IP68 to 20 m (66 ft), and the only XP headphone that goes under with the remote; our DEUS II dive kit packages the BH-01 with the caps and wave guide. The older non-ST WS6, WSA II and WSA II XL are discontinued and cannot run Multi-Process; XP warns that V4.0 must never be installed with a non-ST headset. If you still own one, it will pair for mono audio, but the stereo features that make a current DEUS II worth buying stay off.
Why the 11 in coil
Coil size is the first DEUS II decision, and it is a question about your sites, not the detector. The 11 in (28 cm) round FMF coil is the all-round default: more depth and more ground per pass than the 9 in (22.5 cm), with enough separation to work a nail-peppered relic camp, which is why XP ships it as the standard coil; most of the History Seekers team runs a DEUS II for relics and coins and rotates coils with the site. At 470 g (16.6 oz) it is the middle weight of the three sizes. Pick the 9 in RC package when your ground is tight and iron-choked: cellar holes, foundations, picked-over parks, brush, where a smaller footprint sees between the nails and fits where this coil bumps. Pick the 13x11 in (34x28 cm) coil, available as the 13x11 in WS6 ST package or as a second coil for this remote, when open fields and wide beaches are the whole game and coverage per pass matters more than separation. If you cannot answer the question yet, the 11 in is the coil to start with; the 9 in and 13x11 in coils, and the HF2 elliptical for high-frequency gold work, all pair with the same remote later.
RC-only, WS6 ST package or History Seekers bundle: the 11 in ladder
Every rung below is the same DEUS II remote, 11 in (28 cm) FMF coil and S-Telescopic stem; they differ only in which XP headphone, if any, is in the cart. Pick the audio for your head and your sites.
| Configuration | Headphones | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| This package: 11 in RC-only (DEUS2-28FMFRCEA, XP factory package) | None | You own XP ST or BH-01 audio already, or want to choose it yourself |
| 11 in + WSA ST bundle (bundled by History Seekers from two factory-new XP products) | WSA ST, 72 g, rainproof, no screen | Lightest and lowest-cost way to get Multi-Process stereo audio |
| 11 in + WSA XL ST bundle (bundled by History Seekers from two factory-new XP products) | WSA XL ST, 250 g, over-ear, IP68 1 m | Comfort and isolation on windy beaches and noisy sites |
| 11 in + WS6 ST package (XP factory package) | WS6 ST, 82 g, screen and controls | Redundancy: the headphones can run the detector as a backup controller |
The same ladder exists for the 9 in coil, starting from the 9 in RC-only package. Hunting small gold or iron-masked colonial sites at high frequency? The DEUS II Gold swaps the FMF coil for the HF2 elliptical coil, which reaches 9 to 120 kHz.
Technical Specifications and What They Mean in the Field
| Spec (XP manual and xpmetaldetectors.com) | What It Does for You |
|---|---|
| FMF Fast Multi Frequency, or any of 49 single frequencies from 4 to 45 kHz | Multi-frequency reads wet salt, mineralization and mixed targets at once; DEUS MONO drops to a single frequency when power lines or another detector make multi-frequency noisy. |
| 12 factory programs (GENERAL, SENSITIVE, SENSI FT, FAST, PARK, DEEP HC, DEUS MONO, GOLD FIELD, RELIC, DIVING, BEACH, BEACH SENS) plus user slots | A starting point for every site type; RELIC is XP's deep-relic program (sweep high, Reactivity 0) and GOLD FIELD is the prospecting program reaching 40 kHz. |
| 11 in (28 cm) round Double-D FMF search coil, 470 g (16.6 oz), coil cover and lower stem | XP's standard all-round size: depth and coverage on fields and beaches with enough separation for iron-peppered camps; up to 20 hours per charge depending on program and frequency. |
| Remote and search coil IP68 to 20 m (66 ft); aerial antenna in the box, required when the coil is submerged | Wade, snorkel or dive with the remote itself under water, not just the coil. Audio under water is XP's BH-01 bone conduction headphones (sold separately). |
| Headphones not included; pairs with the current XP ST line (WS6 ST, WSA ST, WSA XL ST) and the BH-01 | Multi-Process stereo audio on any ST headset; the WS6 ST also works as a backup controller. Discontinued non-ST headphones pair for mono audio only. |
| XP digital wireless link, 36 automatic channels, 2.40 to 2.48 GHz, zero audio latency | Target sounds arrive as the coil passes, so recovery speed and reactivity settings mean what they say. |
| Battery life: remote up to 25 hours depending on audio output, coil up to 20 hours; both charge in about 3 hours by USB | A full weekend on one charge for most hunters; the remote shows the level of the coil, the headphones and itself on one screen. |
| Software updates by USB through XP's online updater; current version V4.1 | Multi-Process arrived in V4.0 and was refined in V4.1; any headphones you add must run the same version as the remote. |
| S-Telescopic stem, 370 g (13.1 oz), 58 cm folded to 130 cm extended (23 to 51 in) | Packs into a carry bag or a suitcase; the remote clips to the stem or rides in the supplied hip-mount case. |
| Backlit graphic display, 8192 pixels; Go Terrain app integration | Readable at dawn and dusk; a long press on the remote sends the target to the Go Terrain app on your phone. |
| Made in France; 5-year XP warranty | The longest detector warranty in the class we carry. |
Settings That Matter on the DEUS II
The DEUS II has twelve factory programs and more adjustment than most detectors at any price, and the fastest way to get lost is to change five things at once. Pick the factory program for the site, learn how it sounds, then move one setting at a time. These are the controls that change results, with the ranges and factory values printed in XP's own manual:
- Program first. GENERAL (Prg 1) subtracts wet-soil signals so coke and damp ground go quiet; SENSITIVE (2) and SENSI FT (3) reach 40 kHz for the smallest targets in iron and mineralization; FAST (4) is SENSITIVE with Pitch audio and Reactivity 3 for ferrous-choked ground; PARK (5) notches 23 to 35 for foil and sets B.Caps to 2 for rusty caps; DEEP HC (6) adds the low frequencies to 14 kHz for coin clusters and deep high conductors; DEUS MONO (7) is one frequency, anywhere from 4 to 45 kHz, for sites where interference beats multi-frequency; GOLD FIELD (8) and RELIC (9) run all-metal with ground grabbing; DIVING (10), BEACH (11) and BEACH SENS (12) subtract conductive salt. XP's manual: test a program in the soil, not in the air.
- Sensitivity (0 to 99; factory 90 to 95 per program; XP says most hunters run 70 to 90): run as high as the ground and the interference allow, and lower it near power lines, fences and in trash before you touch anything else.
- Reactivity (0 to 5; factory GENERAL 2, SENSITIVE and PARK 2.5, FAST and SENSI FT 3, GOLD FIELD 2, RELIC 1, DIVING 1, BEACH and BEACH SENS 0): XP's recovery speed. Low (0 to 1) for large deep masses and widely spaced beach targets; 2 to 2.5 for general ground; 3 to 5 for iron-contaminated or mineralized sites. The manual's own relic trick is Reactivity 0 with the coil swept 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8 in) above the ground.
- Discrimination (-6.4 to 99; factory 6.1 to 10): XP recommends leaving it low (around 8) and judging by the target ID, the tones and B.Caps rather than rejecting high. Below 0 opens the ground zone for the deepest ferrous-adjacent signals.
- B.Caps (0 to 5; PARK 2, others 0): rejects rusty bottle caps that read as good targets; the manual recommends it on beaches and parks whenever caps are a nuisance.
- Silencer (-3 to 7; factory 1 to 3) and Iron Volume (0 to 10; factory 7): the first filters the residual spikes of large or odd-shaped iron at the cost of masking good targets beside it; the second sets how loud iron is allowed to be.
- Audio Response (0 to 7; factory 4, GOLD FIELD 7): amplifies the sound of deep targets. XP's manual says it plainly: it gives the impression of more power but adds no depth; lower values give a truer sense of depth.
- Ground (grab or manual 60 to 90, tracking on or off) and Ground Stabilizer (1 to 3; factory 2, PARK 3): grab the ground where you hunt, re-grab when it changes, and use Stabilizer 3 when the soil keeps talking. Level 1 opens the expert zone above your ground value for the deepest masked signals; in DEUS MONO it is fixed at level 1.
- Salt Sens (1 to 9; DIVING and BEACH 9, BEACH SENS 7), Frequency Max (14 to 40 kHz by program on the FMF coils, 29 to 89 kHz with the HF2) and Threshold (0 to 20): the beach and gold controls. Lower Salt Sens before you lower sensitivity on wet sand; lower Frequency Max to 14 kHz in RELIC for big deep targets; use the threshold in GOLD FIELD and RELIC to hear the faintest change.
- Frequency scan first. Before blaming the ground for chatter, run the scan to move the detector off the interfering frequency, then set sensitivity.
What Fast Multi Frequency and Multi-Process do not do. FMF does not make ground balance optional: GOLD FIELD and RELIC want regular grabbing, and the beach programs want Salt Sens set to the sand. Multi-Process is audio processing in the ST headphones, two reactivities heard at once in one swing; it is not a second detector in the ground and it does not change what the coil sees. Audio Response, in XP's own words, provides no additional depth. Whether a signal repeats from two directions still decides the dig.
Who the DEUS II 11 in RC Is For, and Who Should Buy Something Else
Best for: the all-round size: fields, parks, homesites and beaches on one coil; surf and wading to 20 m (66 ft) with the right headset; part-time gold in GOLD FIELD. Experience level: intermediate to advanced, and usable by a motivated beginner in the twelve factory programs; XP's ICON X and ICON are the simpler, lower-cost step down inside the brand. Step up inside XP: the DEUS II Gold HF2 package for small gold and masked small targets, and the Xtrem Hunter XTR-115E, which runs from this remote, for deep large targets. Add an XP ST headset to this RC package before the first hunt; the remote has no speaker.
This package belongs with the relic hunter working fields, camps and homesites who already owns XP audio or wants to choose it, the beach and surf hunter who will run the BH-01 under water and does not need a wireless set, and the second-machine buyer adding a DEUS II to a rig that already has ST headphones or an ICON. It is an intermediate to advanced machine that rewards learning its programs. Honest limits: there are no headphones in this box, and the Multi-Process stereo features need an ST headset, so budget for one if you do not own it. The 11 in coil gives up some separation in dense iron to the 9 in and some coverage on open ground to the 13x11 in. And DEUS I accessories do not cross over: X35 and HF coils, WS4 and WS5 headphones and ORX parts are DEUS I products and never fit the DEUS II; the DEUS II takes FMF coils (9 in, 11 in, 13x11 in) and the HF2 elliptical only, and XP's ICON coil is ICON-only. Weighing the DEUS II against another flagship before you decide? Read our owner-reviewed DEUS II comparison post.
Where the DEUS II Works Well, and Where It Does Not
Trashy parks and hammered ground: PARK, SENSITIVE and FAST were tuned for it: the 23 to 35 notch takes out foil, B.Caps takes out rusty caps, and Reactivity 2.5 to 3 separates a coin from the pull tab beside it. The 9 in (22.5 cm) coil threads the nail beds; technique still does the finding, and no detector turns a worked-out park back into a fresh one.
Plowed fields and old homesites: GENERAL's wet-soil subtraction is why coke and damp dirt go quiet on this platform, SENSI FT's full tones read iron-choked cellar holes, and DEEP HC pulls coin clusters and deep high conductors out of clean ground. The wireless coil, remote and headset add up to the lightest machine you can walk a forty-acre permission with.
Beaches, surf and diving: three salt programs: DIVING for the stablest wet-sand and underwater work, BEACH to 24 kHz for small targets in wet zones, BEACH SENS to 40 kHz, the deepest wet-sand program and the most reactive. Coil and remote are IP68 waterproof to 20 m (66 ft); the remote reaches that depth only with its red 20 m cap fitted (the gray cap is good to 1 m), the coil needs the aerial antenna when it is submerged, and the ST headphones are rainproof, not dive gear, so under water you run the BH-01 bone conduction set.
Relic ground and deep masses: RELIC is GOLD FIELD processing at lower frequencies with conductive-soil subtraction, built for large deep targets. The manual's method is to sweep 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8 in) above the ground, drop Reactivity to 0 and, if you want, Frequency Max to 14 kHz, and dig the long sounds.
Gold country: GOLD FIELD runs all-metal with ground grabbing and IAR discrimination for surface iron, reaching 40 kHz on the FMF coils; the HF2 package pushes the same program to 89 kHz for smaller gold. In the worst mineralization a pulse induction machine reaches deeper on large gold; XP's own answer for deep large targets is the Xtrem Hunter, which runs from this remote.
Interference-heavy sites: DEUS MONO gives you any one of 49 single frequencies from 4 to 45 kHz when the simultaneous programs cannot hold still near power lines or another detector; run the frequency scan first.
Where it is the wrong buy: for someone who wants a switch-on-and-go machine (XP's ICON X and ICON are the simpler, lower-cost step inside the brand), for a diver expecting to wear the ST headphones under water, or for a nugget-only prospector in extreme ground who should be looking at pulse induction.
Coils and Accessories That Fit the DEUS II
The DEUS II runs XP's wireless FMF coils, and which coil when is the first decision: the 9 in (22.5 cm) FMF coil for iron-heavy homesites, trashy parks, woods and cellar holes; the 11 in (28 cm) FMF coil (in this package), the all-round size for fields, parks and beaches; the 13x11 in (34x28 cm) FMF coil for open farm fields, wide beach flats and depth on larger targets; and the HF2 9.5 x 5 in (24x13 cm) elliptical high-frequency coil, 9 to 120 kHz, for small gold and small masked targets. Coil covers ship with every coil. The original DEUS X35 and HF coils do not fit the DEUS II.
Headphones (every DEUS II needs one XP headset; the remote has no speaker): WS6 ST (82 g, graphic screen, can run the detector as a backup controller), WSA ST (72 g, the lightest), WSA XL ST (over-ear, 250 g, rated to 1 m) and the BH-01 bone conduction headphones, the only set rated for diving to 20 m. All three ST sets run Multi-Process; the discontinued non-ST WS6, WSA II and WSA II XL do not.
Other genuine XP accessories that fit (every one listed, with its part number, on our DEUS II fitment page): the MI-6 pinpointer, which pairs wirelessly with the remote and sounds through your headset, and the MI-4 pinpointer; the XP Backpack 240, Backpack 280 and Backpack 280 with finds pouch, plus the XP finds pouch; for the water, the aerial antennas the coil needs when submerged, the red 20 m plug and gray 1 m cap for the remote, and our Dive, Snorkel and Long Reach kits that pair the antenna with the BH-01; and the Xtrem Hunter XTR-115E deep-seeking upgrade, which runs from the DEUS II remote. The fitment page also lists the sand scoops and digging tools we pair with it.

See it in the field
History Seekers hunts run on YouTube and Facebook, where over 1.1 million followers watch us dig relics, coins, and gold across the Southeast and beyond. Most of the History Seekers team swings a DEUS II for relics and coins, and we rotate coils with the site, so this machine shows up across many hunts rather than one dedicated video. Every find you see was made with gear we sell and use ourselves.
One more thing worth knowing about who you are buying from. History Seekers is a small American business, not a big box retailer where nobody on staff has ever swung a detector, and not a warehouse that just moves boxes. Everyone here detects, from the top down: gold, relics, coins, jewelry, even float copper. Years of field experience before hire is not a coincidence, it is a requirement. The person who answers your questions may be the same one who packs your order and drives it to the UPS drop-off, and every purchase keeps everyday Americans working.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this XP DEUS II package include headphones?
No, and that is the point. The DEUS2-28FMFRCEA package is the DEUS II remote control, the 11 in (28 cm) FMF search coil, the S-Telescopic stem and the aerial antenna, with no headphones, so you pair the XP audio you already own or choose the headset that fits your head and your sites. XP's Multi-Process stereo features need an ST headset, so plan on one if you do not own it.
Which XP headphones should I add to the RC-only package?
Any of XP's three current ST stereo headphones, all of which run Multi-Process: the WSA ST (72 g, lightest, rainproof, no screen), the WSA XL ST (250 g, over-ear, IP68 to 1 m) or the WS6 ST (82 g, graphic screen and controls, doubles as a backup controller if the remote fails). For diving, the wired BH-01 bone conduction headphones are IP68 to 20 m (66 ft). The non-ST WS6, WSA II and WSA II XL are discontinued and cannot run Multi-Process; XP warns that software V4.0 must never be installed with a non-ST headset. Any headphones you add must run the same software version as the remote, currently V4.1.
Why choose the 11 in (28 cm) coil over the 9 in or 13x11 in?
The 11 in (28 cm) coil is the all-round default: more depth and ground coverage than the 9 in (22.5 cm) with enough separation for iron-peppered relic camps, which is why XP ships it as standard. Choose the 9 in when your sites are tight and iron-choked, such as cellar holes, foundations and picked-over parks. Choose the 13x11 in (34x28 cm) when open fields and wide beaches make coverage per pass the priority. All three fit the same remote, so you can add a second coil later; if you cannot answer the question yet, start with the 11 in.
Is the XP DEUS II waterproof without headphones?
Yes. The remote control and the search coil are IP68 rated and submersible to 20 m (66 ft). The aerial antenna in the box clips to the remote and is required when the coil is submerged; fit the red diving cap first. For audio under water, add XP's wired BH-01 bone conduction headphones, which are IP68 to 20 m (66 ft). XP's ST wireless headphones are rainproof (the WSA XL ST is rated to 1 m) and are not dive gear.
Will my DEUS I coils or headphones work with this DEUS II?
No. X35 and HF coils, WS4 and WS5 headphones and ORX parts are DEUS I products and do not pair with the DEUS II. The DEUS II uses FMF coils in 9 in (22.5 cm), 11 in (28 cm) and 13x11 in (34x28 cm), plus the HF2 elliptical coil, and the current ST headphones. XP's ICON coil is for the ICON and ICON X only, although it works the other way: the DEUS II's FMF coils and ST headphones do also fit the ICON and ICON X.
Can the XP DEUS II with the 11 in coil find gold?
Yes, twice over. Gold rings and jewelry are everyday work for the DEUS II in any program, and for prospecting it ships with GOLD FIELD as factory program 8, reaching 40 kHz for small gold in mineralized ground. The 11 in (28 cm) coil favors depth and coverage over sensitivity to the smallest pieces; when sub-gram gold is the goal, the HF2 elliptical coil reaches 9 to 120 kHz on this same remote, and the DEUS II Gold package ships with it.
Is the XP Deus 2 a good metal detector?
Yes, and it is the detector most of our own team swings for relics and coins. The DEUS II (XP writes it DEUS II; detectorists also write Deus 2) is a fully wireless Fast Multi Frequency machine with twelve factory programs, 49 single frequencies from 4 to 45 kHz, a coil and remote IP68 waterproof to 20 m (66 ft), a 5-year warranty on parts and labor, and a weight that starts at 750 g (1.65 lb) in its lightest configuration. Its limits: it rewards learning its programs rather than running one preset forever; the ST headphones are rainproof, not dive-rated, so diving means the BH-01; the lightest weight figure is the WS6 Master configuration, not the RC packages; and a nugget-only prospector in extreme ground should be looking at pulse induction.
Which XP DEUS II package should I buy?
Compare by XP part number. XP factory packages we sell: DEUS II RC, remote and coil only, with the 9 in (22.5 cm) coil (DEUS2-22FMFRCEA) or the 11 in (28 cm) coil (DEUS2-28FMFRCEA), for hunters who own XP ST headphones or want to choose their own; DEUS II RC + WS6 ST, the complete system whose WS6 ST headphones can also run the detector as a backup controller, with the 9 in (DEUS2-22FMFRCW6STE), 11 in (DEUS2-28FMFRCW6STE) or 13x11 in, 34x28 cm (DEUS2-34FMFRCW6STE) coil; and the DEUS II Gold with the HF2 9.5 x 5 in (24x13 cm) elliptical coil, remote and WSA ST headphones (DEUS2-ELLHPRCWASTE), the high-frequency package for small gold and masked small targets. History Seekers bundles, sanctioned by XP's US distributor, pair the RC package with a headset: 9, 11 or 13x11 in coil with the WSA ST (DEUS2-22FMFRCEA+WSAST, DEUS2-28FMFRC+WSAST, DEUS2-34FMFRC+WSAST) or with the over-ear WSA XL ST (DEUS2-22FMFRC+WSAXLST, DEUS2-28FMFRC+WSAXLST, DEUS2-34FMFRC+WSAXLST). XP also makes WS6 Master packs, the WS6 ST headphones as the controller with no remote; call us if that is the configuration you want. Choose the coil by the ground (9 in for iron and trash, 11 in all-round, 13x11 in for open fields and depth) and the headset by water and weight (WS6 ST for the backup controller, WSA ST for the lightest, WSA XL ST for over-ear comfort; none is dive gear, the BH-01 is).
What accessories fit the XP DEUS II?
XP FMF coils: 9 in (22.5 cm) D22FMF, 11 in (28 cm) D28FMF, 13x11 in (34x28 cm) D3428FMF, and the HF2 9.5 x 5 in (24x13 cm) high-frequency coil DELLFMFHP; the original DEUS X35 and HF coils do not fit. Headphones: WS6 ST, WSA ST, WSA XL ST, and the BH-01 bone conduction set for diving. MI-6 and MI-4 pinpointers; XP Backpack 240, Backpack 280 and the 280 with finds pouch; XP finds pouch; aerial antennas (65, 115 and 250 cm), wave guide kits, the red 20 m plug, gray 1 m cap and antenna clip, and our Dive, Snorkel and Long Reach kits; and the Xtrem Hunter XTR-115E deep-seeking upgrade, which runs from the DEUS II remote. This page's configuration already includes the 11 in FMF coil. Every item is listed, with its part number, on our DEUS II fitment page.
What software version does the DEUS II run, and how do I update it?
The current DEUS II software is V4.1, released by XP in June 2026 and still the newest version on XP's update pages as of our last check. Updates install over USB through XP's online updater, and the remote and any headphones you add must be on the same version or the headphones will not connect. V4.1 brought the Multi-Process refinements, MI-6 pinpointer audio options and improved wireless reliability; Multi-Process itself needs an ST headset, and XP warns that V4.0 must never be installed with a non-ST headset.
